亞撒和跟隨他的軍兵追趕他們，直到基拉耳。古實人被殺的甚多，不能再強盛，因為敗在耶和華與他軍兵面前。猶大人就奪了許多財物，又打破基拉耳四圍的城邑；耶和華使其中的人都甚恐懼。猶大人又將所有的城擄掠一空，因其中的財物甚多，又毀壞了羣畜的圈，奪取許多的羊和駱駝，就回耶路撒冷去了。

掃羅說：「這是百姓從亞瑪力人那裏帶來的；因為他們愛惜上好的牛羊，要獻與耶和華－你的神；其餘的，我們都滅盡了。」

如今我們將各人所得的金器，就是腳鍊子、鐲子、打印的戒指、耳環、手釧，都送來為耶和華的供物，好在耶和華面前為我們的生命贖罪。」

這示羅密和他的弟兄掌管府庫的聖物，就是大衛王和眾族長、千夫長、百夫長，並軍長所分別為聖的物。他們將爭戰時所奪的財物分別為聖，以備修造耶和華的殿。

所羅門王用牛二萬二千，羊十二萬獻祭。這樣，王和眾民為神的殿行奉獻之禮。

所羅門上到耶和華面前會幕的銅壇那裏，獻一千犧牲為燔祭。

又要從出去打仗所得的人口、牛、驢、羊羣中，每五百取一，作為貢物奉給耶和華。從他們一半之中，要取出來交給祭司以利亞撒，作為耶和華的舉祭。

百姓卻在所當滅的物中，取了最好的牛羊，要在吉甲獻與耶和華－你的神。」
