摩西回到耶和華那裏，說：「唉！這百姓犯了大罪，為自己造了金的神明。

如今他們罪上加罪，為自己鑄造偶像，憑自己的聰明用銀子造偶像，全都是匠人所製的。論到它，有話說：獻祭的人都要親吻牛犢。

聖靈明說，在末後的時期必有人離棄信仰，去聽信那誘惑人的邪靈和鬼魔的教訓。

他們在何烈山造了牛犢，叩拜鑄成的像，將他們榮耀的主換為吃草之牛的像，

他們本是鬼魔的靈，施行奇事，到普天下眾王那裏去，召集他們在全能者上帝的大日子作戰。

撒瑪利亞啊，耶和華已拋棄你的牛犢；我的怒氣向拜牛犢的人發作。他們要到幾時方能無罪呢？因這牛犢是出於以色列，是匠人所造的，並不是上帝。撒瑪利亞的牛犢必被打碎。

你反倒行惡，比在你之前所有的人更嚴重；你離開了我，為自己立了別神，鑄了偶像，惹我發怒，將我丟在背後。

不，我是說，他們所獻的祭是祭鬼，不是祭上帝；我不願意你們與鬼來往。你們不能喝主的杯，又喝鬼的杯；不能吃主的筵席，又吃鬼的筵席。
