循少者之謀、謂民曰、我父使爾負軛、我必使爾負尤重之軛、我父以鞭責爾、我必以蠍責爾、

he followed the advice of the young men and said,“ My father made your yoke heavy; I will make it even heavier. My father scourged you with whips; I will scourge you with scorpions.”

and followed the advice of the younger ones. He said,“ My father imposed heavy demands on you; I will make them even heavier. My father punished you with ordinary whips; I will punish you with whips that really sting your flesh.”

Better is the end of a thing than its beginning. The patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.

Who knows whether he will be a wise man or a fool? Yet he will have rule over all of my labor in which I have labored, and in which I have shown myself wise under the sun. This also is vanity.

The thoughts of the righteous are just, but the advice of the wicked is deceitful.

But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, don’t boast and don’t lie against the truth.This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, sensual, and demonic.For where jealousy and selfish ambition are, there is confusion and every evil deed.But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.Where do wars and fightings among you come from? Don’t they come from your pleasures that war in your members?You lust, and don’t have. You murder and covet, and can’t obtain. You fight and make war. You don’t have, because you don’t ask.

He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, as did Ahab’s house, for they were his counselors after the death of his father, to his destruction.He also followed their counsel, and went with Jehoram the son of Ahab king of Israel to war against Hazael king of Syria at Ramoth Gilead, and the Syrians wounded Joram.

Woe to you, land, when your king is a child, and your princes eat in the morning!
