為嫠約八十四年、或作壽約八十四歲不離聖殿、禁食祈禱、日夜奉事天主、

無依之寡婦、原文作真為寡婦者下同爾當敬之、

我欲爾無所慮、無妻者慮主之事、如何悅主、

古昔仰賴天主之聖女、亦以此自飾、而服於其夫、

若信男信女、家有寡婦、則當自濟之、免累教會、使教會得濟無依之寡婦、○

耶穌又設喻、謂人當恆祈禱而不倦、

爾中誰畏主而聽其僕之命、行於暗中、不得光明者、當恃主名、仰賴己之天主、

其時爾心自言曰、我喪子獨居、遭擄掠、被驅逐、此眾誰為我生之育之、我孤獨無依、此眾自何而有、

天主救我、為我所賴、我無所恐懼、主賜我以力、我謳歌頌揚、拯我者惟主、

主使火自天降、入我骨髓、制克難堪、張設網羅、以絆我足、使我退卻、退卻或作仰仆使我蕭條、終日悲慘、

在耶路撒冷邑門、聞嗟歎哀哭、邑必荒蕪、其景況如婦坐地悲哀、原文作邑門必嗟歎哀哭邑必荒蕪而坐於地

天主之選民、晝夜籲禱天主、其應允或遲、豈不終伸其冤乎、

爾不孕不生子者、當謳歌、爾未劬勞之婦、當發聲謳歌而歡呼、蓋獨居之婦、較有夫之婦生子多矣、此乃主所言、

又常以神而禱、或作又恆感於聖神而禱用諸祈禱懇求、且為此警醒不倦、恆為諸聖徒求、

且我十二支派、日夜殷勤事主、亦望得此所許者、亞基帕王、我為此望、而被猶太人所訟、

必遮護爾如鳥覆雛、使爾在主翼之蔭下、得蒙覆庇、主之誠實乃盾乃甲、

願主報爾所為、爾來此、欲蒙主以色列天主之翼庇、願主大賚爾、

婦與童女有別、無夫者慮主之事、欲其身與神皆成聖、有夫者慮世之事、如何悅夫、

我在爾中、可彼此得慰、因爾我之信也、

天主不可見之事、即其永能、及其為天主之真、目不可見、自造天地以來、乃可明知、因觀其所造之物而悟、致人無由推諉、彼雖知天主、不以天主尊之、亦不謝之、乃思念虛妄、心以頑而愈昧、

我儕因彼得恩寵、且受使徒之職、令萬國之人、為其名而信服、
