I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies.Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept[ them]: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols.But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, my servants shall eat, but ye shall be hungry: behold, my servants shall drink, but ye shall be thirsty: behold, my servants shall rejoice, but ye shall be ashamed:Behold, my servants shall sing for joy of heart, but ye shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall howl for vexation of spirit.

To what purpose[ is] the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.When ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to tread my courts?Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with;[ it is] iniquity, even the solemn meeting.Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear[ them].And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;

The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.

Say ye to the righteous, that[ it shall be] well[ with him]: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.

And Samuel said, Hath the LORD[ as great] delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey[ is] better than sacrifice,[ and] to hearken than the fat of rams.

He shall dwell on high: his place of defence[ shall be] the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters[ shall be] sure.

Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his[ days] be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him:

To what purpose cometh there to me incense from Sheba, and the sweet cane from a far country? your burnt offerings[ are] not acceptable, nor your sacrifices sweet unto me.

For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.

But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For[ it is] a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.

Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I[ am] God,[ even] thy God.I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings,[ to have been] continually before me.I will take no bullock out of thy house,[ nor] he goats out of thy folds.For every beast of the forest[ is] mine,[ and] the cattle upon a thousand hills.I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field[ are] mine.If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world[ is] mine, and the fulness thereof.Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High:And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places;

Can a man be profitable unto God, as he that is wise may be profitable unto himself?

Wherefore have we fasted,[ say they], and thou seest not?[ wherefore] have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours.Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as[ ye do this] day, to make your voice to be heard on high.Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul?[ is it] to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes[ under him]? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD?

Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God,[ which is] new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and[ I will write upon him] my new name.

Which[ was] a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;[ Which stood] only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed[ on them] until the time of reformation.

According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that[ pertain] unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse.

To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

[ This is] a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to[ his] purpose.

And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.
