Beyond all question, the mystery from which true godliness springs is great: He appeared in the flesh, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory.

There is no doubt that true godliness comes from this great mystery. Jesus came as a human being. The Holy Spirit proved that he was the Son of God. He was seen by angels. He was preached among the nations. People in the world believed in him. He was taken up to heaven in glory.

Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.

Without question, this is the great mystery of our faith: Christ was revealed in a human body and vindicated by the Spirit. He was seen by angels and announced to the nations. He was believed in throughout the world and taken to heaven in glory.

And most certainly, the mystery of godliness is great: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.

And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.

And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness; He who was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the spirit, Seen of angels, Preached among the nations, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.

Without controversy, the mystery of godliness is great: God was revealed in the flesh, justified in the spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, and received up in glory.

And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us; and we saw His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which has been kept secret for long ages past,

And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

So then, when the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.

While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men suddenly stood near them in gleaming clothing;

if indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast, and not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, was made a minister.

“ Behold, the virgin will conceive and give birth to a Son, and they shall name Him Immanuel,” which translated means,“ God with us.”

For a Child will be born to us, a Son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.

for by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones, or dominions, or rulers, or authorities— all things have been created through Him and for Him.He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.He is also the head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.

This is the One who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not with the water only, but with the water and with the blood. It is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.For there are three that testify:the Spirit and the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement.

It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves, but you, in these things which now have been announced to you through those who preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven— things into which angels long to look.

After He was baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove and settling on Him,

who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, after angels and authorities and powers had been subjected to Him.

You know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin.

and the life was revealed, and we have seen and testify and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was revealed to us—

looking only at Jesus, the originator and perfecter of the faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

but holding to the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience.

For He was foreknown before the foundation of the world, but has appeared in these last times for the sake of you

When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. And He placed His right hand on me, saying,“ Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last,and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.

[ Now an angel from heaven appeared to Him, strengthening Him.

Opening his mouth, Peter said:“ I most certainly understand now that God is not one to show partiality,

But without any dispute the lesser person is blessed by the greater.

and on her forehead a name was written, a mystery:“ BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF PROSTITUTES AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.”

The chariots of God are myriads, thousands upon thousands; The Lord is among them as at Sinai, in holiness.You have ascended on high, You have led captive Your captives; You have received gifts among people, Even among the rebellious as well, that the Lord God may dwell there.

The Lord God has opened My ear, And I was not disobedient, Nor did I turn back.I gave My back to those who strike Me, And My cheeks to those who pull out My beard; I did not hide My face from insults and spitting.For the Lord God helps Me, Therefore, I am not disgraced; Therefore, I have made My face like flint, And I know that I will not be ashamed.

when He comes to be glorified among His saints on that day, and to be marveled at among all who have believed— because our testimony to you was believed.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.He was in the beginning with God.

For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him;

And it became known to all the residents of Jerusalem; as a result that field was called Hakeldama in their own language, that is, Field of Blood.)

For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh,

And entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting at the right, wearing a white robe; and they were amazed.

While He was blessing them, He parted from them and was carried up into heaven.

whose are the fathers, and from whom is the Christ according to the flesh, who is over all, God blessed forever. Amen.

A light for revelation for the Gentiles, And the glory of Your people Israel.”

that by revelation there was made known to me the mystery, as I wrote before briefly.By referring to this, when you read you can understand my insight into the mystery of Christ,which in other generations was not made known to mankind, as it has now been revealed to His holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit;to be specific, that the Gentiles are fellow heirs and fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel,of which I was made a minister, according to the gift of God’s grace which was given to me according to the working of His power.To me, the very least of all saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ,and to enlighten all people as to what the plan of the mystery is which for ages has been hidden in God, who created all things;so that the multifaceted wisdom of God might now be made known through the church to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly places.

The first man is from the earth, earthy; the second man is from heaven.

that their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and that they would attain to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God’s mystery, that is, Christ Himself,

And Jesus answered them,“ To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been granted.

Therefore it says,“ When He ascended on high, He led captive the captives, And He gave gifts to people.”( Now this expression,“ He ascended,” what does it mean except that He also had descended into the lower parts of the earth?He who descended is Himself also He who ascended far above all the heavens, so that He might fill all things.)

and pray in my behalf, that speech may be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel,

It is this Jesus whom God raised up, a fact to which we are all witnesses.Therefore, since He has been exalted at the right hand of God, and has received the promise of the Holy Spirit from the Father, He has poured out this which you both see and hear.For it was not David who ascended into heaven, but he himself says:‘ The Lord said to my Lord,“ Sit at My right hand,Until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.” ’Therefore let all the house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him both Lord and Christ— this Jesus whom you crucified.”

But when the fullness of the time came, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law,

Then the devil* left Him; and behold, angels came and began to serve Him.

For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is removed.

And so the angel said to them,“ Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people;for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly army of angels praising God and saying,“ Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace among people with whom He is pleased.”

Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and she will name Him Immanuel.

And He was in the wilderness for forty days, being tempted by Satan; and He was with the wild animals, and the angels were serving Him.

Jesus, knowing that the Father had handed all things over to Him, and that He had come forth from God and was going back to God,

But we do see Him who was made for a little while lower than the angels, namely, Jesus, because of His suffering death crowned with glory and honor, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone.For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to perfect the originator of their salvation through sufferings.For both He who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one Father; for this reason He is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters,saying,“ I will proclaim Your name to My brothers, In the midst of the assembly I will sing Your praise.”And again,“ I will put My trust in Him.” And again,“ Behold, I and the children whom God has given Me.”

And John testified, saying,“ I have seen the Spirit descending as a dove out of heaven, and He remained upon Him.And I did not recognize Him, but He who sent me to baptize in water said to me,‘ He upon whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining upon Him, this is the One who baptizes in the Holy Spirit.’

which has come to you, just as in all the world also it is bearing fruit and increasing, even as it has been doing in you also since the day you heard it and understood the grace of God in truth;

After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could count, from every nation and all the tribes, peoples, and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and palm branches were in their hands;

“ Behold, the days are coming,” declares the Lord,“ When I will raise up for David a righteous Branch; And He will reign as king and act wisely And do justice and righteousness in the land.In His days Judah will be saved, And Israel will live securely; And this is His name by which He will be called,‘ The Lord Our Righteousness.’

And behold, a severe earthquake had occurred, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled away the stone, and sat upon it.

and she* saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been lying.

I came forth from the Father and have come into the world; again, I am leaving the world and going to the Father.”

When they had arrived and gathered the church together, they began to report all the things that God had done with them and how He had opened a door of faith to the Gentiles.

The first account I composed, Theophilus, about all that Jesus began to do and teach,until the day when He was taken up to heaven, after He had given orders by the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom He had chosen.To these He also presented Himself alive after His suffering, by many convincing proofs, appearing to them over a period of forty days and speaking of things regarding the kingdom of God.Gathering them together, He commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for what the Father had promised,“ Which,” He said,“ you heard of from Me;for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”So, when they had come together, they began asking Him, saying,“ Lord, is it at this time that You are restoring the kingdom to Israel?”But He said to them,“ It is not for you to know periods of time or appointed times which the Father has set by His own authority;but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and as far as the remotest part of the earth.”And after He had said these things, He was lifted up while they were watching, and a cloud took Him up, out of their sight.And as they were gazing intently into the sky while He was going, then behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them,and they said,“ Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven.”

He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He set forth in Him,

And now You, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world existed.

“ When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, namely, the Spirit of truth who comes from the Father, He will testify about Me,

( for He who was at work for Peter in his apostleship to the circumcised was at work for me also to the Gentiles),

Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly and said,“ It was necessary that the word of God be spoken to you first. Since you repudiate it and consider yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, we are turning to the Gentiles.For so the Lord has commanded us,‘ I have appointed You as a light to the Gentiles, That You may bring salvation to the end of the earth.’ ”When the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord; and all who had been appointed to eternal life believed.

What then if you see the Son of Man ascending to where He was before?

But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Too little to be among the clans of Judah, From you One will come forth for Me to be ruler in Israel. His times of coming forth are from long ago, From the days of eternity.”

who, as He already existed in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,but emptied Himself by taking the form of a bond servant and being born in the likeness of men.And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death: death on a cross.

to whom God willed to make known what the wealth of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles is, the mystery that is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

but we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God predestined before the ages to our glory;

And the angel said to me,“ Why do you wonder? I will tell you the mystery of the woman and of the beast that carries her, which has the seven heads and the ten horns.

And He, when He comes, will convict the world regarding sin, and righteousness, and judgment:regarding sin, because they do not believe in Me;

But I say, surely they have never heard, have they? On the contrary:“ Their voice has gone out into all the earth, And their words to the ends of the world.”

concerning His Son, who was born of a descendant of David according to the flesh,who was declared the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness by the resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord,

Now the main point in what has been said is this: we have such a high priest, who has taken His seat at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,

For Christ also suffered for sins once for all time, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;
