我之蒙簡為傳報福音之宗徒、而充列邦信德上、真道上、之導師者、實亦為此明證而已。吾作此言、實屬至誠而無妄也。

我為此見立為使徒、為宣告者、以信以誠、為列邦之師、我言真而不誑也、○

我宗基督言真而不偽、奉命為使徒、務傳斯道、教異邦人信主真理、

我賴基督、言真而不偽、我為此道而特設為傳道者、為使徒、為異邦人之師、教之以信以真、○

And for this purpose I was appointed a herald and an apostle— I am telling the truth, I am not lying— and a true and faithful teacher of the Gentiles.

I was appointed to be a messenger and an apostle to preach the good news. I am telling the truth. I’m not lying. God appointed me to be a true and faithful teacher of the Gentiles.

For this I was appointed a preacher and an apostle( I am telling the truth, I am not lying), a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.

And I have been chosen as a preacher and apostle to teach the Gentiles this message about faith and truth. I’m not exaggerating— just telling the truth.

主曰：『第往、斯人乃吾特選之器、將以吾名播諸異族與列王、以及義塞子孫。

予之奉命而任傳道、而作宗徒、而充師導者、為此福音而已。

吾與基督相契、所言真實無誑且吾之良心、感於聖神、亦為吾作證；

天主運用其大能、賜我恩寵、令我得供役於福音。夫我乃諸聖中之至微者、竟亦蒙此殊恩、得在異邦人中弘宣基督不可思議之厚澤、

猶太人相語曰：『彼將何往、而使吾人覓而不獲耶？意者彼將周遊列國、以教萬民歟？

以及其他違悖正道者而設也。正道者何、即全德天主光榮之福音是已；而予則受斯重寄焉。竊思基督耶穌以吾為忠實之徒、令供斯役、且予我以扶植、賜我以神力；此恩此德、昊天罔極。

所行眞且善。所言可實踐。

先於大馬士革、繼於耶路撒冷及猶太全境、爰及異邦、勸人幡然悔改、歸向天主、且實踐聖道、以稱悔改之心。

彼等既見予所受聖寵之不虛、於是號稱教會柱石之雅各伯基法及若望、相率與予及巴拿巴殷勤握手、以表心契；我往外邦、而彼等則傳道於受割禮者。

古時人欲橫流、天主亦不惜使洪水氾濫、僅有宣揚道義之諾厄及同伴七人得濟。

吾主耶穌基督之父、永遠可頌之天主、固知吾之誠實無誑也。

得在異邦人中充任基督耶穌之役、不得不勉盡司鐸之職、以弘宣基督之福音、務使異邦人受聖神之感化、而超凡入聖、俾我獻之於天主之前、而蒙其悅納。

予之拔汝於眾民萬邦者、欲汝啟眾民萬邦之目、使自黑暗轉向光明、脫沙殫之掌握而歸依天主、俾以信予之故、而獲罪赦、與一切因信成聖者同嗣洪基。」

吾坦率告爾異邦人、吾為傳道於異邦人之宗徒也；

既至、召集會眾、縷述天主假手所行諸事；且謂天主已為異邦人洞開信道之門矣。

雖然、吾人既知人之成義、非憑律法、惟憑篤信基督、故毅然惟基督是信、亦欲緣篤信基督、不恃律法、而成義耳。無他、血氣之倫、未有僅憑遵行律法、而成義者也。

然而苟不信之、何由籲之、苟不聞之、何由信之；苟不傳之、何有聞之；

按其所悅樂之時、惠然以其聖子啟示吾心、令我傳道於外邦。吾即當機立斷、不屑謀之於血氣肉情、

然則凡有信德者、必當與富於信德之亞伯漢同受其福矣。

凡此種切洵非虛言、天主照臨、實鑒斯忱。

予一心以其聖子之福音、昭事天主；每於祈禱時、緬懷爾等、不能自已；

眾聞彼陳述至此、高呼曰：『此人實無可生之理、地所不載、盍共除之！』
