Thou therefore, my child, be strengthened in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.And the things which thou hast heard from me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.Suffer hardship with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.No soldier on service entangleth himself in the affairs of this life; that he may please him who enrolled him as a soldier.And if also a man contend in the games, he is not crowned, except he have contended lawfully.

But ye know the proof of him, that, as a child serveth a father, so he served with me in furtherance of the gospel.

unto Timothy, my true child in faith: Grace, mercy, peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world- rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.Wherefore take up the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand.Stand therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;withal taking up the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one.And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:with all prayer and supplication praying at all seasons in the Spirit, and watching thereunto in all perseverance and supplication for all the saints,

according to the gospel of the glory of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.I thank him that enabled me, even Christ Jesus our Lord, for that he counted me faithful, appointing me to his service;

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith:

I beseech thee for my child, whom I have begotten in my bonds, Onesimus,

For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, if it be received with thanksgiving:

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh( for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the casting down of strongholds);
