God has called us to live holy lives, not impure lives.

For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life.

That’s because God chose us to live pure lives. He wants us to be holy.

For God has not called us for impurity, but in holiness.

For God has not called us to impurity but to live in holiness.

For God has not called us for impurity, but in sanctification.

For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness.

For God called us not for uncleanness, but in sanctification.

For God has not called us to impurity but to sanctification.

For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.

For I am the Lord your God. You must consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am holy. So do not defile yourselves with any of these small animals that scurry along the ground.

Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.

He is especially hard on those who follow their own twisted sexual desire, and who despise authority. These people are proud and arrogant, daring even to scoff at supernatural beings without so much as trembling.

For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And having called them, he gave them right standing with himself. And having given them right standing, he gave them his glory.

For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps.He never sinned, nor ever deceived anyone.

So you can see we were not preaching with any deceit or impure motives or trickery.

But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.“ Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God’s people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received God’s mercy.”Dear friends, I warn you as“ temporary residents and foreigners” to keep away from worldly desires that wage war against your very souls.Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God when he judges the world.

For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time— to show us his grace through Christ Jesus.

So you must live as God’s obedient children. Don’t slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. You didn’t know any better then.But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy.For the Scriptures say,“ You must be holy because I am holy.”

They have no sense of shame. They live for lustful pleasure and eagerly practice every kind of impurity.

I am writing to all of you in Rome who are loved by God and are called to be his own holy people. May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace.

When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures,

“ Give the following instructions to the entire community of Israel. You must be holy because I, the Lord your God, am holy.

Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God.

I am writing to God’s church in Corinth, to you who have been called by God to be his own holy people. He made you holy by means of Christ Jesus, just as he did for all people everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours.

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

As for us, we can’t help but thank God for you, dear brothers and sisters loved by the Lord. We are always thankful that God chose you to be among the first to experience salvation— a salvation that came through the Spirit who makes you holy and through your belief in the truth.He called you to salvation when we told you the Good News; now you can share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord.
