故我不能忍、復遣人欲知爾之信、恐試者惑爾、而我儕之勞徒然、

因此吾迫不及待、儘先遣人探訪、藉欲知爾信德、深恐誘人之物乘間誘爾、則我等之所為孳孳不倦者、盡付東流矣。

I fear for you, that perhaps I have labored over you in vain.

For I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy; for I betrothed you to one husband, to present you as a pure virgin to Christ.But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his trickery, your minds will be led astray from sincere and pure devotion to Christ.

After some days Paul said to Barnabas,“ Let’s return and visit the brothers and sisters in every city in which we proclaimed the word of the Lord, and see how they are.”

But now that Timothy has come to us from you, and has brought us good news of your faith and love, and that you always think kindly of us, longing to see us just as we also long to see you,

For you yourselves know, brothers and sisters, that our reception among you was not in vain,
