Saul answered,“ But I’m from the tribe of Benjamin. It’s the smallest tribe in Israel. And my family group is the least important in the whole tribe of Benjamin. So why are you saying that to me?”

扫罗回答说：“我不是以色列支派中最小的便雅悯人吗？我的家族不是便雅悯支派中最小的家族吗？你为何对我说这样的话呢？”

扫罗回答说：“我不是以色列支派中最小的便雅悯人吗？我的家族不是便雅悯支派中最小的家族吗？你为何对我说这样的话呢？”

扫罗答道：“我来自以色列最小的便雅悯支派，我的家族在便雅悯支派中最小，你何出此言？”

扫罗回答：“我不是以色列众支派中最微小的便雅悯人吗？我的家族不是便雅悯支派的家族中最微小的吗？你为什么对我说这样的话呢？”

扫罗回应说：“难道我不是出自以色列最小支派的本雅明人吗？我的家族不是本雅明支派所有家族中最微小的吗？你为什么对我说这样的话呢？”

掃羅說：「我不是以色列支派中至小的便雅憫人嗎？我家不是便雅憫支派中至小的家嗎？你為何對我說這樣的話呢？」

掃羅回答說：「我不是以色列支派中最小的便雅憫人嗎？我的家族不是便雅憫支派中最小的家族嗎？你為何對我說這樣的話呢？」

掃羅回答說：「我不是以色列支派中最小的便雅憫人嗎？我的家族不是便雅憫支派中最小的家族嗎？你為何對我說這樣的話呢？」

掃羅答道：「我來自以色列最小的便雅憫支派，我的家族在便雅憫支派中最小，你何出此言？」

掃羅回答：“我不是以色列眾支派中最微小的便雅憫人嗎？我的家族不是便雅憫支派的家族中最微小的嗎？你為甚麼對我說這樣的話呢？”

掃羅回答說：『我，我不是便雅憫人、以色列族派中至小的麼？我家不是便雅憫族派眾家中至微小的麼？你為甚麼對我說這樣的話呢？』

掃羅回應說：「難道我不是出自以色列最小支派的便雅憫人嗎？我的家族不是便雅憫支派所有家族中最微小的嗎？你為什麼對我說這樣的話呢？」

掃羅曰、我非便雅憫人、屬以色列支派之至小者乎、便雅憫支派諸家之中、我家非至微者乎、曷與我言若是、

掃羅曰、我便雅憫人也、以色列支派中、便雅憫族非至小乎。便雅憫族之最著者中、我家非至微乎。曷與我言若是。

掃羅曰、我非便雅憫人乎、便雅憫支派在以色列諸支派中、非至小者乎、我之家在便雅憫支派之諸家中、非至微者乎、何與我言若是、

Saul answered,“ But am I not a Benjamite, from the smallest tribe of Israel, and is not my clan the least of all the clans of the tribe of Benjamin? Why do you say such a thing to me?”

Saul answered,“ Am I not a Benjaminite, from the least of the tribes of Israel? And is not my clan the humblest of all the clans of the tribe of Benjamin? Why then have you spoken to me in this way?”

Saul replied,“ But I’m only from the tribe of Benjamin, the smallest tribe in Israel, and my family is the least important of all the families of that tribe! Why are you talking like this to me?”

Saul responded,“ Am I not a Benjaminite from the smallest of Israel’s tribes and isn’t my clan the least important of all the clans of the Benjaminite tribe? So why have you said something like this to me?”

Saul replied,“ Am I not a Benjaminite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel, and my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? Why then have you spoken to me in this way?”

And Saul answered and said,“ Am I not a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel, and my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? Why then do you speak like this to me?”

And Saul answered and said, Am not I a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel? and my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? wherefore then speakest thou to me after this manner?

Saul responded,“ Am I not a Benjaminite from the smallest of Israel’s tribes and isn’t my clan the least important of all the clans of the Benjaminite tribe? So why have you said something like this to me?”

And Saul answered and said,[ Am] not I a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel? and my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? wherefore then speakest thou so to me?

Saul replied,“ Am I not a Benjaminite, from the smallest of Israel’s tribes, and is not my family clan the smallest of all the tribes of Benjamin? Why do you speak to me in this way?”

Saul answered,“ Am I not a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel? And my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? Why then do you speak to me like this?”

Samuel said,“ There was a time when you didn’t think you were important. But you became the leader of the tribes of Israel. The Lord anointed you to be king over Israel.

The little tribe of Benjamin leads the worshipers. Next comes the great crowd of Judah’s princes. Then come the princes of Zebulun and the princes of Naphtali.

On that day 25,000 men of Benjamin fell in battle. They had been carrying swords. All of them were brave fighters.But 600 of them turned back. They ran into the desert to the rock of Rimmon. They stayed there for four months.The men of Israel went back to Benjamin. In all the towns they killed the people with their swords. They even killed the animals. So they killed everything they found. They set on fire all the towns they came to.

When the tribe of Ephraim spoke, the other tribes trembled with fear. Ephraim was honored in Israel. But its people sinned by worshiping Baal. So they were as good as dead.

Saul’s attendants spoke those very words to David. But David said,“ Do you think it’s a small thing to become the king’s son- in- law? I’m only a poor man. I’m not very well known.”

The Lord turned to Gideon. He said to him,“ You are strong. Go and save Israel from the power of Midian. I am sending you.”“ Pardon me, sir,” Gideon replied,“ but how can I possibly save Israel? My family group is the weakest in the tribe of Manasseh. And I’m the least important member of my family.”

I am by far the least important of all the Lord’s holy people. But he gave me the grace to preach to the Gentiles about the unlimited riches that Christ gives.

But David said to Saul,“ Who am I? Is anyone in my whole family that important in Israel? Am I worthy to become the king’s son- in- law?”

But some people who wanted to stir up trouble said,“ How can this fellow save us?” They looked down on him. They didn’t bring him any gifts. But Saul kept quiet about it.

All those who lift themselves up will be made humble. And those who make themselves humble will be lifted up.”
