“ About this time tomorrow I will send you a man from the land of Benjamin. Anoint him ruler over my people Israel; he will deliver them from the hand of the Philistines. I have looked on my people, for their cry has reached me.”

“ About this time tomorrow I will send you a man. He is from the land of Benjamin. Anoint him to be the king of my people Israel. He will save them from the power of the Philistines. I have seen how much my people are suffering. Their cry for help has reached me.”

“ Tomorrow about this time I will send to you a man from the land of Benjamin, and you shall anoint him to be prince over my people Israel. He shall save my people from the hand of the Philistines. For I have seen my people, because their cry has come to me.”

To- morrow about this time I will send thee a man out of the land of Benjamin, and thou shalt anoint him to be prince over my people Israel; and he shall save my people out of the hand of the Philistines: for I have looked upon my people, because their cry is come unto me.

撒母耳拿一瓶膏油倒在扫罗的头上，亲吻他，说：“耶和华岂不是膏你作他产业的君王吗？

然而，他听见他们哀告的时候，就眷顾他们的急难，

耶和华说：“我确实看见了我百姓在埃及所受的困苦，我也听见了他们因受监工苦待所发的哀声；我确实知道他们的痛苦。我下来是要救他们脱离埃及人的手，领他们从那地上来，到美好与宽阔之地，到流奶与蜜之地，就是迦南人、赫人、亚摩利人、比利洗人、希未人、耶布斯人之地。现在，看哪，以色列人的哀声达到我这里，我也看见埃及人怎样欺压他们。

求你看顾我的困苦、我的艰难，赦免我一切的罪。

耶和华对他说：“去吧，从原路回去，往大马士革的旷野去。到了那里，你要膏哈薛作亚兰王，又膏宁示的孙子耶户作以色列王，并膏亚伯‧米何拉人沙法的儿子以利沙作先知接续你。

撒母耳对扫罗说：“耶和华差遣我膏你为王，治理他的百姓以色列，现在你要听从耶和华的话。

把瓶里的膏油倒在他头上，说：‘耶和华如此说：我膏你作以色列王。’然后你就开门逃跑，不要等候。”于是那青年，那年轻的先知往基列的拉末去了。他到了那里，看哪，众军官都坐着，就说：“长官，我有话对你说。”耶户说：“你要对我们哪一个说呢？”他说：“长官，我要对你说。”耶户就起来，进了内室，那青年把膏油倒在他头上，对他说：“耶和华—以色列的上帝如此说：‘我膏你作耶和华百姓以色列的王。

你要请耶西来一同献祭，我会指示你当做的事。我对你说的那个人，你要为我膏他。”

过了许多年，埃及王死了。以色列人因做苦工，就叹息哀求；他们因苦工所发出的哀声达于上帝。上帝听见他们的哀声，就记念他与亚伯拉罕、以撒、雅各所立的约。上帝看顾以色列人，上帝是知道的。
