And the Lord told him:“ Listen to all that the people are saying to you; it is not you they have rejected, but they have rejected me as their king.

The Lord told him,“ Listen to everything the people are saying to you. You are not the one they have turned their backs on. I am the one they do not want as their king.

And the Lord said to Samuel,“ Obey the voice of the people in all that they say to you, for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected me from being king over them.

“ Do everything they say to you,” the Lord replied,“ for they are rejecting me, not you. They don’t want me to be their king any longer.

But the LORD told him,“ Listen to the people and everything they say to you. They have not rejected you; they have rejected me as their king.

And the Lord said to Samuel,“ Listen to the voice of the people regarding all that they say to you, because they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me from being King over them.

And the Lord said to Samuel,“ Heed the voice of the people in all that they say to you; for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me, that I should not reign over them.

And Jehovah said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee; for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not be king over them.

But the Lord told him,“ Listen to the people and everything they say to you. They have not rejected you; they have rejected Me as their king.

The LORD said to Samuel,“ Do everything the people request of you. For it is not you that they have rejected, but it is me that they have rejected as their king.

你們今天卻離棄了那位拯救你們脫離一切災難和困苦的神，竟對他說：‘求你立一個王統治我們。’現在你們要按著你們的支派和家族，站在耶和華面前。”

摩西又說：“耶和華晚上必給你們肉吃，早晨必給你們食物吃飽，因為耶和華聽見了你們埋怨他所說的怨言了。我們算甚麼？你們的怨言不是向我們發的，而是向耶和華發的。”

“接待你們的，就是接待我；接待我的，就是接待那差我來的。

聽從你們的，就是聽從我；棄絕你們的，就是棄絕我；棄絕我的，就是棄絕那差我來的。”

現在你的王在哪裡？讓他拯救你吧！你所有的領袖在哪裡？讓他們治理你吧！因為論到他們你曾請求：‘把王和領袖賜給我。’我在忿怒中把王賜給你，又在烈怒中把他廢去。

他本國的人卻恨他，就派使者跟著去說：‘我們不願意這個人作王統治我們。’

至於我那些仇敵，就是不願意我作王統治他們的，把他們拉到這裡來，在我面前殺掉！’”

當夜，神來到巴蘭那裡，對他說：“這些人既然來請你，你就起程與他們同去，但是你只要遵行我吩咐你的事。”

我的子民卻不聽我的話，以色列不肯服從我。因此，我就任憑他們心裡剛硬，隨著自己的計謀行事。

你們要記住我對你們說過的話：‘僕人不能大過主人。’他們若迫害我，也必定迫害你們；他們若遵守我的話，也必定遵守你們的話。但他們因著我的名，要向你們行這一切，因為他們不認識那差我來的。

所以，我也必選擇迷惑他們的事，使他們所懼怕的臨到他們身上；因為我呼喚你們，卻沒有人回答；我說話，你們都不聽，反倒行我眼中看為惡的事，選擇我所不喜悅的事。”

現今不是收割麥子的時候嗎？我要向耶和華呼求，他就會打雷降雨，你們就可以知道，又可以看見，你們為自己要求立王的事，在耶和華看來，是行了極大的惡事。”於是撒母耳向耶和華呼求，耶和華就在那天打雷降雨，眾民就非常懼怕耶和華和撒母耳。眾民對撒母耳說：“求你為僕人向耶和華你的神禱告，免得我們死亡，因為我們為自己要求立王的事，是在我們的一切罪上又增加了這一件惡事。”

我實實在在告訴你們，僕人不能大過主人，奉差遣的也不能大過差他的人。

“學生不能勝過老師，奴僕也不能勝過主人。學生若能像老師一樣，奴僕若能像主人一樣，也就夠了。如果一家之主也被稱為別西卜﹙“別西卜”是鬼王的名字。﹚，何況他的家人呢？
