But Pharaoh hardened his heart this time also and did not release the people.

The Egyptians chased them and followed them into the middle of the sea– all the horses of Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen.

He is wise in heart and mighty in strength– who has resisted him and remained safe?

But exhort one another each day, as long as it is called“ Today,” that none of you may become hardened by sin’s deception.

But for this purpose I have caused you to stand: to show you my strength, and so that my name may be declared in all the earth.

But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath for yourselves in the day of wrath, when God’s righteous judgment is revealed!

He says,“ Do not be stubborn like they were at Meribah, like they were that day at Massah in the wilderness,

The nations will hear and tremble; anguish will seize the inhabitants of Philistia.Then the chiefs of Edom will be terrified, trembling will seize the leaders of Moab, and the inhabitants of Canaan will shake.Fear and dread will fall on them; by the greatness of your arm they will be as still as stone until your people pass by, O LORD, until the people whom you have bought pass by.

Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron in the night and said,“ Get up, get out from among my people, both you and the Israelites! Go, serve the LORD as you have requested!Also, take your flocks and your herds, just as you have requested, and leave. But bless me also.”The Egyptians were urging the people on, in order to send them out of the land quickly, for they were saying,“ We are all dead!”
