The men of Beth Shemesh said,“ Who is able to stand before Yahweh, this holy God? To whom shall he go up from us?”

And the people of Beth Shemesh asked,“ Who can stand in the presence of the Lord, this holy God? To whom will the ark go up from here?”

The people of Beth Shemesh said,“ The Lord is a holy God. Who can stand in front of him? Where can the ark go up to from here?”

Then the men of Beth-shemesh said,“ Who is able to stand before the Lord, this holy God? And to whom shall he go up away from us?”

“ Who is able to stand in the presence of the Lord, this holy God?” they cried out.“ Where can we send the Ark from here?”

The people of Beth-shemesh asked,“ Who is able to stand in the presence of the LORD this holy God? To whom should the ark go from here?”

And the men of Beth shemesh said,“ Who is able to stand before the Lord, this holy God? And to whom will He go up from us?”

And the men of Beth Shemesh said,“ Who is able to stand before this holy Lord God? And to whom shall it go up from us?”

And the men of Beth- shemesh said, Who is able to stand before Jehovah, this holy God? and to whom shall he go up from us?

The men of Beth-shemesh asked,“ Who is able to stand in the presence of this holy Lord God? Who should the ark go to from here?”

And the men of Bethshemesh said, Who is able to stand before this holy LORD God? and to whom shall he go up from us?

The residents of Beth Shemesh asked,“ Who is able to stand before the LORD, this holy God? To whom will the ark go up from here?”

David was afraid of Yahweh that day; and he said,“ How could Yahweh’s ark come to me?”

“ But who can endure the day of his coming? And who will stand when he appears? For he is like a refiner’s fire, and like launderers’ soap;

for the great day of his wrath has come; and who is able to stand?”

You, even you, are to be feared. Who can stand in your sight when you are angry?

They sent therefore and gathered together all the lords of the Philistines, and said,“ What shall we do with the ark of the God of Israel?” They answered,“ Let the ark of the God of Israel be carried over to Gath.” They carried the ark of the God of Israel there.It was so, that after they had carried it there, Yahweh’s hand was against the city with a very great confusion; and he struck the men of the city, both small and great, so that tumors broke out on them.So they sent God’s ark to Ekron. As God’s ark came to Ekron, the Ekronites cried out, saying,“ They have brought the ark of the God of Israel here to us, to kill us and our people.”They sent therefore and gathered together all the lords of the Philistines, and they said,“ Send the ark of the God of Israel away, and let it go again to its own place, that it not kill us and our people.” For there was a deadly panic throughout all the city. The hand of God was very heavy there.The men who didn’t die were struck with the tumors; and the cry of the city went up to heaven.

The children of Israel spoke to Moses, saying,“ Behold, we perish! We are undone! We are all undone!Everyone who keeps approaching Yahweh’s tabernacle, dies! Will we all perish?”

David was displeased, because Yahweh had broken out against Uzza. He called that place Perez Uzza, to this day.David was afraid of God that day, saying,“ How can I bring God’s ark home to me?”So David didn’t move the ark with him into David’s city, but carried it aside into Obed- Edom the Gittite’s house.

All the people of the surrounding country of the Gadarenes asked him to depart from them, for they were very much afraid. Then he entered into the boat and returned.

But Simon Peter, when he saw it, fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying,“ Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, Lord.”

For I am Yahweh who brought you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God. You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

Yahweh’s anger burned against Uzzah; and God struck him there for his error; and he died there by God’s ark.
