When the people of Ashdod rose early the next day, there was Dagon, fallen on his face on the ground before the ark of the Lord! They took Dagon and put him back in his place.

The people of Ashdod got up early the next day. They saw the statue of Dagon. There it was, lying on the ground! It had fallen on its face in front of the ark of the Lord. So they picked up the statue of Dagon. They put it back in its place.

And when the people of Ashdod rose early the next day, behold, Dagon had fallen face downward on the ground before the ark of the Lord. So they took Dagon and put him back in his place.

But when the citizens of Ashdod went to see it the next morning, Dagon had fallen with his face to the ground in front of the Ark of the Lord! So they took Dagon and put him in his place again.

彼勒屈身仆倒，尼波彎腰跌落；巴比倫人的偶像馱在獸和牲口上，他們抬的偶像如今成了重載、馱在疲乏的牲口上。他們一概彎腰跌落，屈身仆倒，不能保全重馱，自己反倒被擄而去。

關於埃及的神託之言。看哪，永恆主駕輕快之雲來到埃及；埃及的偶像在他面前都發顫；埃及人都膽戰心驚。

他們將神像抬起，扛在肩頭上，安置在定處，它就站在那裏，總不離開其位置；就使有人向它哀叫，它也不能應，不能救人脫離患難。

其剩下的他竟作了一座神像，就是雕像，而向它叩拜，向它敬拜，禱告說：『援救我吧，因為你是我的神！』他們不知道，也不明白，因為他們的眼被塗抹了，以致不能看見，他們的心蒙蔽了，以致不能了解。沒有一個人心裏回悟過來，也沒有一個有知識有聰明能夠說：「木頭的一半我已經燒在火中，我也曾在其炭火上烤過餅，烤過肉喫；難道其剩下的我還要作一座可厭惡之像！我還要向樹木頭叩拜！」嘿，以爐灰為食的人！被愚弄的心使他偏行了；他不能援救自己，也不能說：『莫非我右手中有虛假？』

別跟不信者異類同軛相配偶了：義和不法怎能合夥呢？光對暗有甚麼團契呢？基督對彼列怎能和諧呢？信的同不信的有甚麼共同分兒？上帝的殿堂同偶像怎能符合呢？我們呢、就是永活上帝的殿堂。正如上帝所說的：『我要在他們裏面居住；我要在他們中間往來；我要做他們的上帝；他們必做我的子民。』

這一夜裏、我要巡行埃及地，把埃及地一切頭胎生的、無論是人是牲口、都擊殺掉；埃及一切神明我也要判罰：我永恆主。

願一切服事雕像的都抱愧，願那靠偶相而自誇的、都蒙羞；萬神都敬拜他。

木匠鼓勵銀匠，用鎚打光滑的、鼓勵用鎚打砧的，論銲工說：『銲得好』；他們使用釘子釘穩，使偶像不動搖。

耶穌對他們說：『我看見撒但從天上跌了下來，像閃電一樣。注意吧，我已經給了你們權柄、可以踐踏蛇和蠍子，並勝過仇敵一切的能力；斷沒有甚麼能害你們。然而不要因靈順服了你們而歡喜，卻要因你們的名字記錄在天上而歡喜。』

那豫備鑄造偶像的揀選不能朽壞的樹木，尋找巧匠，立起不能搖動的鑄像來。

永恆主向他們必顯為可畏懼，因為他必使地上眾神明都饑餓瘦弱，列國沿海地帶都必各從自己的地方敬拜他。

污靈一見着他，總拜倒在他面前，喊着說：『你是上帝的兒子。』

拜偶像的人一概是畜類、是愚頑，是虛無神所指教的：那神不過是木頭，
