When David reached Ziklag, he sent some of the plunder to the elders of Judah, who were his friends, saying,“ Here is a gift for you from the plunder of the Lord’s enemies.”

When David came to Ziklag, he sent part of the spoil to his friends, the elders of Judah, saying,“ Here is a present for you from the spoil of the enemies of the Lord.”

When he arrived at Ziklag, David sent part of the plunder to the elders of Judah, who were his friends.“ Here is a present for you, taken from the Lord’s enemies,” he said.

人的礼物为他开路，引他到高位的人面前。先诉情由的，似乎有理；另一人来到，就察出实情。掣签能止息纷争，也能化解双方激烈的争辩。被冒犯的弟兄强如难以攻下的坚城；纷争如同城堡的门闩。人的肚腹必因口所结的果实饱足；他必因嘴唇所出的感到满足。生死在舌头的掌握之下，喜爱弄舌的，必吃它所结的果实。得着妻子的，得着好处，他是蒙了耶和华的恩惠。穷乏人说哀求的话；有钱人却用威吓的话回答。朋友太多的人，必受损害；但有一知己比兄弟更亲密。

你已经升上高天，掳掠了俘虏；你在人间，就是在悖逆的人中，受了供献，使耶和华神可以与他们同住。

乃缦带着所有跟随他的人，回到神人那里，站在他面前，说：“看哪，我知道，除了以色列，全地没有神。现在请你收下仆人的礼物。”

君子却图谋高尚的事，他必因高尚的事站立得稳。

以下是大卫因基士的儿子扫罗的缘故被放逐到洗革拉的时候，到他那里帮助他打仗的勇士；他们是弓箭手，能左右甩石，开弓射箭，都是便雅悯人扫罗同族的弟兄：为首的是亚希以谢，其次是约阿施，都是基比亚人示玛的儿子。还有亚斯玛威的儿子耶薛和毗力，比拉迦，亚拿突人耶户，基遍人以实买雅，他在三十人中是勇士，管理这三十人，又有耶利米，雅哈悉，约哈难，基底拉人约撒拔，伊利乌赛，耶利末，比亚利雅，示玛利雅，哈律弗人示法提雅，可拉人以利加拿、耶西亚、亚萨列、约以谢、雅朔班，基多人耶罗罕的儿子犹拉和西巴第雅。迦得人中有人到旷野的山寨投奔大卫，都是大能的勇士，能拿盾牌和枪的战士。他们的面貌好像狮子，敏捷如山上的鹿。第一以薛，第二俄巴底雅，第三以利押，第四弥施玛拿，第五耶利米，第六亚太，第七以利业，第八约哈难，第九以利萨巴，第十耶利米，第十一末巴奈。这些都是迦得人中的军官，小的能抵一百人，大的能抵一千人。正月，约旦河水涨过两岸的时候，他们过河，使所有住河谷的人东奔西逃。
