So Samuel told him everything, hiding nothing from him. Then Eli said,“ He is the Lord; let him do what is good in his eyes.”

Then Hezekiah said to Isaiah,“ Yahweh’s word which you have spoken is good.” He said moreover,“ For there will be peace and truth in my days.”

But he said to her,“ You speak as one of the foolish women would speak. What? Shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil?” In all this Job didn’t sin with his lips.

Why does a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?

The children of Israel said to Yahweh,“ We have sinned! Do to us whatever seems good to you; only deliver us, please, today.”

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time,

I was mute. I didn’t open my mouth, because you did it.

May it be far from you to do things like that, to kill the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous should be like the wicked. May that be far from you. Shouldn’t the Judge of all the earth do right?”

The king said,“ What have I to do with you, you sons of Zeruiah? Because he curses, and because Yahweh has said to him,‘ Curse David;’ who then shall say,‘ Why have you done so?’”David said to Abishai, and to all his servants,“ Behold, my son, who came out of my bowels, seeks my life. How much more this Benjamite, now? Leave him alone, and let him curse; for Yahweh has invited him.It may be that Yahweh will look on the wrong done to me, and that Yahweh will repay me good for the cursing of me today.”
