因此乡村的犹大人，就是住在没有城墙的村镇的，都以亚达月十四日为欢乐饮宴的吉日，互送礼物。

尼希米又对他们说：“你们应当去吃肥美的肉，喝甘甜的酒，把部分饮食分给没有能力预备的人，因为今天是我们的主的圣日；你们不要忧愁，因为靠耶和华而得的喜乐是你们的力量。”于是利未人使众民安静下来，说：“你们安静吧，因为今天是圣日，也不要再忧愁！”众民就去吃喝，也把部分饮食与人分享，大大欢乐。因为他们明白教训他们的话。

耶稣又对邀请他的人说：“你设午餐或晚宴，不要请你的朋友、弟兄、亲戚或富裕的邻舍，恐怕他们又回请你，你就得了报答。你摆筵席的时候，总要邀请那贫穷的、残废的、瘸腿的、瞎眼的，那你就有福了。因为他们没有什么可以报答你，义人复活的时候，你必定得着报答。”

只要把里面的施舍出去，你们的一切就都洁净了。

以这月的两日，为犹大人脱离仇敌，得享安宁的日子，是转忧为喜，转哀为乐的吉日，叫他们在这两日饮宴欢乐，大家互赠礼物，也周济穷人。

你要分为七份，或分为八份，因为你不知道将来会有什么灾祸在地上发生。

耶和华再次呼唤撒母耳，他就起来走到以利那里，说：“你呼唤我，我在这里。”以利说：“我儿，我没有呼唤你，回去睡吧。”

我父啊，请看，你外袍的衣边在我手中。我割下了你外袍的衣边，却没有杀你。你从此可以知道，也可以看出我手中没有邪恶，也没有过犯。我虽然没有得罪你，你却要猎取我的性命。
