Sir, the Lord has kept you from killing Nabal and his men. He has kept you from using your own hands to get even. So may what’s about to happen to Nabal happen to all your enemies. May it happen to everyone who wants to harm you. And may it happen just as surely as the Lord your God and you are alive.

我主啊，耶和华既然阻止你亲手报仇，取流血的罪，所以我指着永生的耶和华、又敢在你面前起誓说：‘愿你的仇敌和谋害你的人都像拿八一样。’

现在，我主啊，耶和华既然阻止你亲手报仇，避免流人的血，我指着永生的耶和华起誓，又指着你的性命起誓：‘现在，愿你的仇敌和谋害我主的人都像拿八一样。’

现在，我主啊，耶和华既然阻止你亲手报仇，避免流人的血，我指着永生的耶和华起誓，又指着你的性命起誓：‘现在，愿你的仇敌和谋害我主的人都像拿八一样。’

我主啊，既然耶和华阻止你亲手杀人报仇，我就凭永活的耶和华和你的性命起誓，愿你的仇敌和伤害你的人都像拿八一样没有好下场。

我主啊，现在我指着永活的耶和华，又在你面前起誓，耶和华既然阻止了你流人的血，又阻止了你亲手报仇，愿你的仇敌和那些谋害我主的人，都像拿八一样。

现在，我主啊，我指着耶和华的永生和你的生命起誓：耶和华阻止了你流人的血，阻止了你亲手报仇。愿你的仇敌和那些谋害我主的人都像纳巴尔一样！

我主啊，耶和華既然阻止你親手報仇，取流血的罪，所以我指着永生的耶和華、又敢在你面前起誓說：『願你的仇敵和謀害你的人都像拿八一樣。』

現在，我主啊，耶和華既然阻止你親手報仇，避免流人的血，我指着永生的耶和華起誓，又指着你的性命起誓：『現在，願你的仇敵和謀害我主的人都像拿八一樣。』

我主啊，既然耶和華阻止你親手殺人報仇，我就憑永活的耶和華和你的性命起誓，願你的仇敵和傷害你的人都像拿八一樣沒有好下場。

我主啊，現在我指著永活的耶和華，又在你面前起誓，耶和華既然阻止了你流人的血，又阻止了你親手報仇，願你的仇敵和那些謀害我主的人，都像拿八一樣。

我主啊，永恆主既阻止了你犯到流人血的罪，阻止了你親手為自己復仇，如今我指着永活的永恆主、也指着與你活着的性命、來起誓：如今我願你的仇敵和謀害你的人、都像拿八一樣。

現在，我主啊，我指著耶和華的永生和你的生命起誓：耶和華阻止了你流人的血，阻止了你親手報仇。願你的仇敵和那些謀害我主的人都像納巴爾一樣！

我主歟、耶和華既禁爾流人之血、阻爾親手復仇、我指維生之耶和華、與爾生命以誓、願爾敵及謀害爾者、俱如拿八、

爾欲流人血、以伸己冤、耶和華止爾、我指耶和華以誓、亦指爾生命以誓、願爾敵、及凡欲害爾者、俱如拿八。

今我指主而誓、亦指爾生命而誓、禁爾流人血以復己仇者主也、惟願爾敵及凡欲害爾者、俱如拿八然、

And now, my lord, as surely as the Lord your God lives and as you live, since the Lord has kept you from bloodshed and from avenging yourself with your own hands, may your enemies and all who are intent on harming my lord be like Nabal.

Now then, my lord, as the Lord lives, and as your soul lives, because the Lord has restrained you from bloodguilt and from saving with your own hand, now then let your enemies and those who seek to do evil to my lord be as Nabal.

“ Now, my lord, as surely as the Lord lives and you yourself live, since the Lord has kept you from murdering and taking vengeance into your own hands, let all your enemies and those who try to harm you be as cursed as Nabal is.

Now my lord, as surely as the LORD lives and as you yourself live— it is the LORD who kept you from participating in bloodshed and avenging yourself by your own hand— may your enemies and those who intend to harm my lord be like Nabal.

“ Now then, my lord, as the Lord lives, and as your soul lives, since the Lord has restrained you from shedding blood, and from avenging yourself by your own hand, now then, may your enemies and those who seek evil against my lord, be like Nabal.

Now therefore, my Lord, as the Lord lives and as your soul lives, since the Lord has held you back from coming to bloodshed and from avenging yourself with your own hand, now then, let your enemies and those who seek harm for my Lord be as Nabal.

Now therefore, my lord, as Jehovah liveth, and as thy soul liveth, seeing Jehovah hath withholden thee from bloodguiltiness, and from avenging thyself with thine own hand, now therefore let thine enemies, and them that seek evil to my lord, be as Nabal.

Now my lord, as surely as the Lord lives and as you yourself live, it is the Lord who kept you from participating in bloodshed and avenging yourself by your own hand. May your enemies and those who want trouble for my lord be like Nabal.

Now therefore, my lord,[ as] the LORD liveth, and[ as] thy soul liveth, seeing the LORD hath withholden thee from coming to[ shed] blood, and from avenging thyself with thine own hand, now let thine enemies, and they that seek evil to my lord, be as Nabal.

“ Now, my lord, as surely as the LORD lives and as surely as you live, it is the LORD who has kept you from shedding blood and taking matters into your own hands. Now may your enemies and those who seek to harm my lord be like Nabal.

Now therefore, my lord, as Yahweh lives, and as your soul lives, since Yahweh has withheld you from blood guiltiness, and from avenging yourself with your own hand, now therefore let your enemies, and those who seek evil to my lord, be as Nabal.

The king asked the man from Cush,“ Is the young man Absalom safe?” The man replied,“ King David, may your enemies be like that young man. May all those who rise up to harm you be like him.”

Then God spoke to him in the dream. He said,“ Yes, I know you had no idea you were doing anything wrong. So I have kept you from sinning against me. That is why I did not let you touch her.

He is the God who pays back my enemies. He brings the nations under my control.He saves me from my enemies. You have honored me more than them. You have saved me from a man who wanted to hurt me.

May the Lord bless you for what you have done. You have shown a lot of good sense. You have kept me from killing Nabal and his men this day. You have kept me from using my own hands to get even.It’s a good thing you came quickly to meet me. If you hadn’t come, not one of Nabal’s men would have been left alive by sunrise. And that’s just as sure as the Lord, the God of Israel, is alive. He has kept me from harming you.”

My dear friends, don’t try to get even. Leave room for God to show his anger. It is written,“ I am the God who judges people. I will pay them back,”( Deuteronomy 32:35) says the Lord.Do just the opposite. Scripture says,“ If your enemies are hungry, give them food to eat. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink. By doing those things, you will pile up burning coals on their heads.”( Proverbs 25:21, 22)

Daniel, who was also called Belteshazzar, was very bewildered for a while. His thoughts terrified him. So the king said,“ Belteshazzar, don’t let the dream or its meaning make you afraid.” Belteshazzar answered,“ My master, I wish the dream were about your enemies! I wish its meaning had to do with them!

They didn’t win the land with their swords. They didn’t gain success by their own power. Your powerful right hand and your mighty arm gave them victory. You gave them success because you loved them.

We know the God who said,“ I am the God who judges people. I will pay them back.”( Deuteronomy 32:35) Scripture also says,“ The Lord will judge his people.”( Deuteronomy 32:36; Psalm 135:14)

Elijah said to Elisha,“ Stay here. The Lord has sent me to Bethel.” But Elisha said,“ I won’t leave you. And that’s just as sure as the Lord and you are alive.” So they went down to Bethel.

Hannah said to Eli,“ Pardon me, sir. I’m the woman who stood here beside you praying to the Lord. And that’s just as sure as you are alive.

When all the jars were full, she spoke to one of her sons. She said,“ Bring me another jar.” But he replied,“ There aren’t any more left.” Then the oil stopped flowing.

From there David went to Mizpah in Moab. He spoke to the king of Moab. He said,“ Please let my father and mother come and stay with you. Let them stay until I learn what God will do for me.”

Because of what happens to them, people will use their names when they curse someone. All those who have been taken from Judah to Babylon will use their names in that way. They will say,‘ May the Lord treat you like Zedekiah and Ahab. The king of Babylon burned them in the fire.’
