David said to his men,“ Each of you strap on your sword!” So they did, and David strapped his on as well. About four hundred men went up with David, while two hundred stayed with the supplies.

David said to his men,“ Each of you put on your swords!” So they did. David put his sword on too. About 400 men went up with David. Two hundred men stayed behind with the supplies.

And David said to his men,“ Every man strap on his sword!” And every man of them strapped on his sword. David also strapped on his sword. And about four hundred men went up after David, while two hundred remained with the baggage.

“ Get your swords!” was David’s reply as he strapped on his own. Then 400 men started off with David, and 200 remained behind to guard their equipment.

He said to his men,“ All of you, put on your swords!” So each man put on his sword, and David also put on his sword. About four hundred men followed David while two hundred stayed with the supplies.

Then David said to his men,“ Each of you strap on his sword.” So each man strapped on his sword. And David also strapped on his sword, and about four hundred men went up behind David, while two hundred stayed with the baggage.

Then David said to his men,“ Every man gird on his sword.” So every man girded on his sword, and David also girded on his sword. And about four hundred men went with David, and two hundred stayed with the supplies.

And David said unto his men, Gird ye on every man his sword. And they girded on every man his sword; and David also girded on his sword: and there went up after David about four hundred men; and two hundred abode by the baggage.

And David said unto his men, Gird ye on every man his sword. And they girded on every man his sword; and David also girded on his sword: and there went up after David about four hundred men; and two hundred abode by the stuff.

於是，大衛和他的部下約六百人就起身離開基伊拉，到處遷移。有人告訴掃羅，大衛已經逃離基伊拉，掃羅就不下去了。

有熱心而無知識，實在不好；腳步急躁的人，難免失足。

人有見識就不輕易發怒；寬恕過犯，是自己的榮耀。

隨後大衛因割下掃羅的衣擺而心中自責，就對部下說：「耶和華絕不允許我對耶和華的受膏者我主做這樣的事，我絕不對他下手，因為他是耶和華的受膏者。」

不輕易發怒的，好過勇士；控制自己心靈的，勝過攻取城池的人。

各位蒙愛的人哪，不要自己報復，寧可給神的震怒留地步，因為經上記著：「主說：報應在我，我將回報。」不但如此，「如果你的敵人餓了，就給他吃；如果他渴了，就給他喝；因為你這樣做，就是把炭火堆在他的頭上。」不要被惡所勝，反要以善勝惡。

不輕易發怒的，大有聰慧；性情急躁的，高舉愚妄。

不可急於出去與人爭訟；否則，你的鄰人羞辱你時，你最後要怎麼做呢？

我親愛的弟兄們，你們應當知道：每個人都該快快地聽，不急於發言、不急於動怒，因為人的憤怒不能成就神的義。

大衛來到那兩百個因疲乏不能跟隨而留在比梭溪谷的人那裡，他們出來迎接大衛和隨同他的人。大衛走近他們，向他們問安。與大衛一起去的人中，所有的惡人和卑劣之徒都議論說：「既然他們沒有與我們一起去，就不要把我們奪取的戰利品分給他們。只讓他們把各自的妻子、兒女帶走。」但大衛說：「我的兄弟們，你們不可這樣處理耶和華所賜給我們的，他保守了我們，把那些來攻擊我們的匪徒交在我們手中。關於這事，誰會聽你們的呢？出戰的人怎樣得份，留下看守輜重的人也怎樣得份，要同等分配。」

於是大衛和隨同他的六百人出發了。他們來到比梭溪谷，那些跟不上的就留了下來。大衛和四百人繼續追趕，那兩百個因疲乏不能渡過比梭溪谷的人就留在那裡。
