And David said to Saul, Wherefore hearest thou men’s words, saying, Behold, David seeketh thy hurt?

大卫对扫罗说：“你为什么听信谗言，认为我要谋害你呢？

大卫对扫罗说：“你为什么听信人的话，说：‘大卫想要害你’呢？

大卫对扫罗说：“你为什么听信人的话，说：‘看哪，大卫想要害你’？

大衛對掃羅說：「你為何聽信人的讒言，說大衛想要害你呢？

大衛對掃羅說：「你為何聽信人的讒言，說『看哪，大衛想要害你』呢？

大衛對掃羅說：「你為何聽信人的讒言，說『看哪，大衛想要害你』呢？

大衛對掃羅說：「你為什麼聽信讒言，認為我要謀害你呢？

大衛對掃羅說：“你為甚麼聽信人的話，說：‘大衛想要害你’呢？

大衛對掃羅說：『你為甚麼聽信人的話說：「你看，大衛想法子要害你呢」？

大衛對掃羅說：「你為什麼聽信人的話，說：『看哪，大衛想要害你』？

謂掃羅曰、有言大衛欲加害於爾、曷聽之哉、

大闢曰、人言我欲加害於爾、曷聽之哉。

大衛告掃羅曰、人進讒言曰、大衛欲加害於爾、爾何為聽之哉、

He said to Saul,“ Why do you listen when men say,‘ David is bent on harming you’?

He said to Saul,“ Why do you listen when men say,‘ David is trying to harm you’?

And David said to Saul,“ Why do you listen to the words of men who say,‘ Behold, David seeks your harm’?

Then he shouted to Saul,“ Why do you listen to the people who say I am trying to harm you?

David said to Saul,“ Why do you listen to the words of people who say,‘ Look, David intends to harm you’?

And David said to Saul,“ Why do you listen to the words of men who say,‘ Behold, David is seeking to harm you’?

And David said to Saul:“ Why do you listen to the words of men who say,‘ Indeed David seeks your harm’?

And David said to Saul, Wherefore hearkenest thou to men’s words, saying, Behold, David seeketh thy hurt?

David said to Saul,“ Why do you listen to the words of people who say,‘ Look, David intends to harm you’?

David said to Saul,“ Why do you pay attention when men say,‘ David is seeking to do you harm’?

David said to Saul,“ Why do you listen to men’s words, saying,‘ Behold, David seeks to harm you?’

The words of a talebearer[ are] as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.

And the tongue[ is] a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

When their judges are overthrown in stony places, they shall hear my words; for they are sweet.

Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer.

A lying tongue hateth[ those that are] afflicted by it; and a flattering mouth worketh ruin.

If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants[ are] wicked.

A froward man soweth strife: and a whisperer separateth chief friends.

The north wind driveth away rain: so[ doth] an angry countenance a backbiting tongue.

Thou shalt not go up and down[ as] a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour: I[ am] the LORD.

A wicked doer giveth heed to false lips;[ and] a liar giveth ear to a naughty tongue.

Also take no heed unto all words that are spoken; lest thou hear thy servant curse thee:For oftentimes also thine own heart knoweth that thou thyself likewise hast cursed others.

Now therefore, I pray thee, let my lord the king hear the words of his servant. If the LORD have stirred thee up against me, let him accept an offering: but if[ they be] the children of men, cursed[ be] they before the LORD; for they have driven me out this day from abiding in the inheritance of the LORD, saying, Go, serve other gods.

Where no wood is,[ there] the fire goeth out: so where[ there is] no talebearer, the strife ceaseth.[ As] coals[ are] to burning coals, and wood to fire; so[ is] a contentious man to kindle strife.The words of a talebearer[ are] as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.
