Now swear to me by the Lord that you will not kill off my descendants or wipe out my name from my father’s family.”

Now make a promise in the name of the Lord. Promise me that you won’t kill the children of my family. Also promise me that you won’t wipe out my name from my family line.”

Swear to me therefore by the Lord that you will not cut off my offspring after me, and that you will not destroy my name out of my father’s house.”

Now swear to me by the Lord that when that happens you will not kill my family and destroy my line of descendants!”

Therefore swear to me by the LORD that you will not cut off my descendants or wipe out my name from my father’s family.”

So now swear to me by the Lord that you will not cut off my descendants after me, and that you will not eliminate my name from my father’s household.”

请你把扫罗的七个子孙交给我们。耶和华选立了扫罗，我们就在耶和华面前把他们吊死在扫罗的家乡基比亚城。”王说：“我必把他们交给你们。”大卫王因为与扫罗的儿子约拿单在耶和华面前起过誓，就没有把扫罗的孙子、约拿单的儿子米非波设交出来。他把埃亚的女儿利斯巴为扫罗所生的两个儿子亚摩尼、米非波设和扫罗女儿米拉为米何拉人巴西莱的儿子亚得列所生的五个儿子交给基遍人。

在我有生之年，请你照耶和华的慈爱恩待我，免我一死。在我死后，即使耶和华把你所有的仇敌都毁灭了，请你仍旧恩待我的后人。”于是，约拿单与大卫家立下盟约，说：“倘若大卫不守盟约，愿耶和华借着仇敌惩罚他。”约拿单因为像爱自己一样爱大卫，便叫他再次起誓。

拉班说：“今日，这石堆是你我之间的凭证。”因此，那地方名叫迦累得，

愿亚伯拉罕和拿鹤的上帝，就是他们父亲的上帝，在你我之间判断是非。”雅各便在他父亲以撒敬畏的上帝面前起誓，

人总是指着比自己更大的起誓，并用誓言作保证，了结各样的争论。
