为什么你们一同谋害我？我的儿子跟耶西的儿子立约，没有人告诉我。就是今天我的儿子鼓动我的臣仆来谋害我，也没有人关心我，告诉我。”

你们所有人竟然同谋对付我！当我的儿子与耶西的儿子结盟的时候，没有人告诉我；当我的儿子煽动我的臣仆伺机反对我时，就像今天这样，你们中间也没有人关心我、告诉我。”

使爾同謀攻我、我子與耶西子結盟、無人以告、罔為我憂、我子激我臣僕、伏以害我、有如今日、亦無人以告、

爾曹乃謀攻我、今日我子與我臣僕耶西之子結約、使伏以害我、無人以告、無人為我懷憂。

爾竟結黨謀攻我、我子與耶西子結盟、我子使我之臣、伏以害我、即如今日情景、爾中乃無人告我、無人為我懷憂、

Is that why you have all conspired against me? No one tells me when my son makes a covenant with the son of Jesse. None of you is concerned about me or tells me that my son has incited my servant to lie in wait for me, as he does today.”

Is that why all of you have joined together against me? No one tells me when my son makes a covenant with Jesse’s son. None of you is concerned about me. No one tells me that my son has stirred up Jesse’s son to hide and wait to attack me. But that’s exactly what’s happening now.”

that all of you have conspired against me? No one discloses to me when my son makes a covenant with the son of Jesse. None of you is sorry for me or discloses to me that my son has stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as at this day.”

Is that why you have conspired against me? For not one of you told me when my own son made a solemn pact with the son of Jesse. You’re not even sorry for me. Think of it! My own son— encouraging him to kill me, as he is trying to do this very day!”

That’s why all of you have conspired against me! Nobody tells me when my own son makes a covenant with Jesse’s son. None of you cares about me or tells me that my son has stirred up my own servant to wait in ambush for me, as is the case today.”

For all of you have conspired against me so that there is no one who informs me when my son makes a covenant with the son of Jesse, and there is none of you who cares about me or informs me that my son has stirred up my servant against me to lie in ambush, as it is this day.”

All of you have conspired against me, and there is no one who reveals to me that my son has made a covenant with the son of Jesse; and there is not one of you who is sorry for me or reveals to me that my son has stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as it is this day.”

that all of you have conspired against me, and there is none that discloseth to me when my son maketh a league with the son of Jesse, and there is none of you that is sorry for me, or discloseth unto me that my son hath stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as at this day?

That all of you have conspired against me, and[ there is] none that sheweth me that my son hath made a league with the son of Jesse, and[ there is] none of you that is sorry for me, or sheweth unto me that my son hath stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as at this day?

For all of you have conspired against me! No one informs me when my own son makes an agreement with this son of Jesse! Not one of you feels sorry for me or informs me that my own son has commissioned my own servant to hide in ambush against me, as is the case today!”

that all of you have conspired against me, and there is no one who discloses to me when my son makes a treaty with the son of Jesse, and there is none of you who is sorry for me, or discloses to me that my son has stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as it is today?”

And Jonathan made a covenant with David because he loved him as himself. (niv)

Saul replied,“ The Lord bless you for your concern for me. (niv)

“ Never!” Jonathan replied.“ You are not going to die! Look, my father doesn’t do anything, great or small, without letting me know. Why would he hide this from me? It isn’t so!” (niv)

he may speak in their ears and terrify them with warnings, (niv)

And Saul’s son Jonathan went to David at Horesh and helped him find strength in God.“ Don’t be afraid,” he said.“ My father Saul will not lay a hand on you. You will be king over Israel, and I will be second to you. Even my father Saul knows this.”The two of them made a covenant before the Lord. Then Jonathan went home, but David remained at Horesh. (niv)

Jonathan said to David,“ Go in peace, for we have sworn friendship with each other in the name of the Lord, saying,‘ The Lord is witness between you and me, and between your descendants and my descendants forever.’” Then David left, and Jonathan went back to the town. (niv)

Saul’s anger flared up at Jonathan and he said to him,“ You son of a perverse and rebellious woman! Don’t I know that you have sided with the son of Jesse to your own shame and to the shame of the mother who bore you?As long as the son of Jesse lives on this earth, neither you nor your kingdom will be established. Now send someone to bring him to me, for he must die!”“ Why should he be put to death? What has he done?” Jonathan asked his father.But Saul hurled his spear at him to kill him. Then Jonathan knew that his father intended to kill David.Jonathan got up from the table in fierce anger; on that second day of the feast he did not eat, because he was grieved at his father’s shameful treatment of David. (niv)

As for you, show kindness to your servant, for you have brought him into a covenant with you before the Lord. If I am guilty, then kill me yourself! Why hand me over to your father?” (niv)

But if my father intends to harm you, may the Lord deal with Jonathan, be it ever so severely, if I do not let you know and send you away in peace. May the Lord be with you as he has been with my father.But show me unfailing kindness like the Lord’s kindness as long as I live, so that I may not be killed,and do not ever cut off your kindness from my family— not even when the Lord has cut off every one of David’s enemies from the face of the earth.”So Jonathan made a covenant with the house of David, saying,“ May the Lord call David’s enemies to account.”And Jonathan had David reaffirm his oath out of love for him, because he loved him as he loved himself. (niv)
