於是王對多益說：「你過去擊殺祭司們。」以東人多益就過去擊殺那些祭司。那天他殺了八十五個佩戴細麻布以弗得的人，

王謂多益曰、爾往擊之、以東人多益遂擊祭司、當日殺衣枲聖衣者、八十五人、

The king then ordered Doeg,“ You turn and strike down the priests.” So Doeg the Edomite turned and struck them down. That day he killed eighty-five men who wore the linen ephod.

Then the king ordered Doeg,“ You go and strike down the priests.” So Doeg, the Edomite, went and struck them down. That day he killed 85 priests who wore linen aprons.

Then the king said to Doeg,“ You turn and strike the priests.” And Doeg the Edomite turned and struck down the priests, and he killed on that day eighty-five persons who wore the linen ephod.

Then the king said to Doeg,“ You do it.” So Doeg the Edomite turned on them and killed them that day, eighty five priests in all, still wearing their priestly garments.

So the king said to Doeg,“ Go and execute the priests!” So Doeg the Edomite went and executed the priests himself. On that day, he killed eighty-five men who wore linen ephods.

Then the king said to Doeg,“ You, turn around and attack the priests!” And Doeg the Edomite turned around and attacked the priests, and he killed on that day eighty five men who wore the linen ephod.

And the king said to Doeg,“ You turn and kill the priests!” So Doeg the Edomite turned and struck the priests, and killed on that day eighty-five men who wore a linen ephod.

And the king said to Doeg, Turn thou, and fall upon the priests. And Doeg the Edomite turned, and he fell upon the priests, and he slew on that day fourscore and five persons that did wear a linen ephod.

那時年少的撒母耳穿著細麻布的以弗得，在耶和華面前事奉。

「所以，以色列的上帝耶和華宣告說，『我曾經應許讓你們家族永遠做我的祭司。』但現在耶和華宣佈，『這絕不可能了。尊重我的，我必尊重他；藐視我的，必遭藐視。看啊，時候將到，我要終結你和你家族的力量，你們家族必沒有一個老人。你必以羡慕的眼光看著我賜福以色列人，你家中卻永遠沒有一個老人。我不會把你家中的人從我壇前滅絕，但留下來的人必使你哭瞎雙眼、傷心欲絕。你的子孫必中年夭亡。

我在耶路撒冷就是這樣做的。我得到祭司長的授權，把許多聖徒關進監獄。他們被判死刑，我也表示贊同。我多次在各會堂懲罰他們，逼他們說褻瀆的話，我對他們深惡痛絕，甚至到國外的城鎮去追捕、迫害他們。

到時候，我要應驗我說的有關以利家的一切預言。我對以利說過我要永遠懲罰他家，因為他知道自己的兒子褻瀆我，卻沒有制止他們。所以，我向以利家起誓說，『靠祭物或禮物絕不能贖去以利家的罪惡。』」

他們以罪惡取悅君王，以謊言討好首領。

也要為亞倫的兒子們縫製內袍、腰帶、帽子，顯出他們職位的榮耀和尊貴。

因為你遵守暗利的惡規，效法亞哈家的惡行，隨從他們的計謀，所以我要使你荒涼，讓你的居民成為笑柄。你們要蒙受列國的羞辱。」

那時，你家存留下來的人要在他面前下拜，乞討銀子和餅，並懇求說，請給我一個祭司的職位以便糊口！』」

她的首領是咆哮的獅子，她的審判官是夜間的豺狼，不留一點獵物到天明。

以法蓮因甘願追隨偶像而受欺壓，被審判壓碎。

我在以色列各支派中選出你的先祖做我的祭司，在我的祭壇上獻祭燒香，穿著以弗得事奉我。我把以色列人獻的火祭都賜給你先祖家。

他們想謀害撒迦利亞，就照著王的命令，在耶和華殿的院子裡用石頭打死了他。
