王就对侍立在他周围的卫兵说：“你们转过去，把耶和华的祭司杀死，因为他们与大卫携手，又因为他们知道大卫逃跑，也不告诉我。”但王的臣仆不愿下手杀害耶和华的祭司。

王就对他身旁侍立的护卫兵说：“你们过去斩杀耶和华的祭司们，因为他们也与大卫联手，他们知道大卫逃走，却不告诉我。”但王的臣仆们不愿意伸手杀害耶和华的祭司。

王就對他身旁侍立的護衛兵說：「你們過去斬殺耶和華的祭司們，因為他們也與大衛聯手，他們知道大衛逃走，卻不告訴我。」但王的臣僕們不願意伸手殺害耶和華的祭司。

王謂左右侍衛曰、往殺耶和華之祭司、因彼助大衛、知其遁逃、而不以告、惟王臣僕不欲伸手、擊耶和華之祭司、

王諭侍衛曰、耶和華之祭司、輔助大闢、知其逃遁、而不以告、故當殺之。王僕不敢遵命。

王命立於側之侍衛曰、爾往殺主之諸祭司、以其輔助大衛、知彼逃遁而不以告我、王之臣僕不敢殺主之祭司、

Then the king ordered the guards at his side:“ Turn and kill the priests of the Lord, because they too have sided with David. They knew he was fleeing, yet they did not tell me.” But the king’s officials were unwilling to raise a hand to strike the priests of the Lord.

Then the king gave an order to the guards at his side. He said,“ Go and kill the priests of the Lord. They are on David’s side too. They knew he was running away from me. And they didn’t even tell me.” But the king’s officials wouldn’t raise a hand to strike down the priests of the Lord.

And the king said to the guard who stood about him,“ Turn and kill the priests of the Lord, because their hand also is with David, and they knew that he fled and did not disclose it to me.” But the servants of the king would not put out their hand to strike the priests of the Lord.

And he ordered his bodyguards,“ Kill these priests of the Lord, for they are allies and conspirators with David! They knew he was running away from me, but they didn’t tell me!” But Saul’s men refused to kill the Lord’s priests.

Then the king ordered the guards standing by him,“ Turn and kill the priests of the LORD because they sided with David. For they knew he was fleeing, but they didn’t tell me.” But the king’s servants would not lift a hand to execute the priests of the LORD.

And the king said to the guards who were attending him,“ Turn around and put the priests of the Lord to death, because their hand also is with David and because they knew that he was fleeing and did not inform me.” But the servants of the king were unwilling to reach out with their hands to attack the priests of the Lord.

Then the king said to the guards who stood about him,“ Turn and kill the priests of the Lord, because their hand also is with David, and because they knew when he fled and did not tell it to me.” But the servants of the king would not lift their hands to strike the priests of the Lord.

And the king said unto the guard that stood about him, Turn, and slay the priests of Jehovah; because their hand also is with David, and because they knew that he fled, and did not disclose it to me. But the servants of the king would not put forth their hand to fall upon the priests of Jehovah.

Then the king ordered the guards standing by him,“ Turn and kill the priests of the Lord because they sided with David. For they knew he was fleeing, but they didn’t tell me.” But the king’s servants would not lift a hand to execute the priests of the Lord.

And the king said unto the footmen that stood about him, Turn, and slay the priests of the LORD; because their hand also[ is] with David, and because they knew when he fled, and did not shew it to me. But the servants of the king would not put forth their hand to fall upon the priests of the LORD.

Then the king said to the messengers who were stationed beside him,“ Turn and kill the priests of the LORD, for they too have sided with David! They knew he was fleeing, but they did not inform me.” But the king’s servants refused to harm the priests of the LORD.

The king said to the guard who stood about him,“ Turn, and kill the priests of Yahweh; because their hand also is with David, and because they knew that he fled, and didn’t disclose it to me.” But the servants of the king wouldn’t put out their hand to fall on the priests of Yahweh.

The midwives, however, feared God and did not do what the king of Egypt had told them to do; they let the boys live. (niv)

While Jezebel was killing off the Lord’s prophets, Obadiah had taken a hundred prophets and hidden them in two caves, fifty in each, and had supplied them with food and water.) (niv)

But the men said to Saul,“ Should Jonathan die— he who has brought about this great deliverance in Israel? Never! As surely as the Lord lives, not a hair of his head will fall to the ground, for he did this today with God’s help.” So the men rescued Jonathan, and he was not put to death. (niv)

He said,“ This is what the king who will reign over you will claim as his rights: He will take your sons and make them serve with his chariots and horses, and they will run in front of his chariots. (niv)

But Saul hurled his spear at him to kill him. Then Jonathan knew that his father intended to kill David. (niv)

In the course of time, Absalom provided himself with a chariot and horses and with fifty men to run ahead of him. (niv)

But Peter and John replied,“ Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to him? You be the judges! (niv)

Now think it over and see what you can do, because disaster is hanging over our master and his whole household. He is such a wicked man that no one can talk to him.” (niv)

As soon as Jehu had finished making the burnt offering, he ordered the guards and officers:“ Go in and kill them; let no one escape.” So they cut them down with the sword. The guards and officers threw the bodies out and then entered the inner shrine of the temple of Baal. (niv)

Saul said to him,“ Why have you conspired against me, you and the son of Jesse, giving him bread and a sword and inquiring of God for him, so that he has rebelled against me and lies in wait for me, as he does today?” (niv)
