I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades. (niv)

“ Come, let us return to the Lord. He has torn us to pieces but he will heal us; he has injured us but he will bind up our wounds.After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will restore us, that we may live in his presence. (niv)

But David took an oath and said,“ Your father knows very well that I have found favor in your eyes, and he has said to himself,‘ Jonathan must not know this or he will be grieved.’ Yet as surely as the Lord lives and as you live, there is only a step between me and death.” (niv)

Our God is a God who saves; from the Sovereign Lord comes escape from death. (niv)

Jesus said to her,“ I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; (niv)

Indeed, we felt we had received the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead.He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, (niv)

For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. (niv)

Very truly I tell you, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live.For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself.And he has given him authority to judge because he is the Son of Man.“ Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voiceand come out— those who have done what is good will rise to live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned. The cords of death entangled me, the anguish of the grave came over me; I was overcome by distress and sorrow. (niv)
