Now the sons of Eli were useless men; they did not know the Lord.

Eli’s sons were scoundrels; they had no regard for the Lord.

Eli’s sons were good for nothing. They didn’t honor the Lord.

Now the sons of Eli were worthless men. They did not know the Lord.

Now the sons of Eli were scoundrels who had no respect for the Lord

Eli’s sons were wicked men; they did not respect the LORD

Now the sons of Eli were corrupt; they did not know the Lord.

Now the sons of Eli were base men; they knew not Jehovah.

Eli’s sons were wicked men; they had no regard for the Lord

Now the sons of Eli[ were] sons of Belial; they knew not the LORD.

The sons of Eli were wicked men. They did not recognize the LORD’s authority.

Now the sons of Eli were wicked men. They didn’t know Yahweh.

The priests did not say,‘ Where is the Lord?’ And those who handle the Law did not know Me; The rulers also revolted against Me, And the prophets prophesied by Baal And walked after things that were of no benefit.

For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their reasonings, and their senseless hearts were darkened.

And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a depraved mind, to do those things that are not proper,people having been filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, and evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, and malice; they are gossips,slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents,

All that generation also were gathered to their fathers; and another generation rose up after them who did not know the Lord, nor even the work which He had done for Israel.

Or what harmony does Christ have with Belial, or what does a believer share with an unbeliever?

Your dwelling is in the midst of deceit; Through deceit they refuse to know Me,” declares the Lord.

and you have not come to know Him, but I know Him. And if I say that I do not know Him, I will be a liar like you; but I do know Him, and I follow His word.

Now then, be aware and consider what you should do, because harm is plotted against our master and against all his household; and he is such a worthless man that no one can speak to him.”

And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

While they were celebrating, behold, the men of the city, certain worthless men, surrounded the house, pushing one another at the door; and they spoke to the owner of the house, the old man, saying,“ Bring out the man who entered your house that we may have relations with him.”

Then the two worthless men came in and sat opposite him; and the worthless men testified against him, against Naboth, before the people, saying,“ Naboth cursed God and the king.” So they took him outside the city and stoned him to death with stones.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Since you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being My priest. Since you have forgotten the Law of your God, I also will forget your children.The more they multiplied, the more they sinned against Me; I will change their glory into shame.They feed on the sin of My people, And long for their wrongdoing.And it will be, like people, like priest; So I will punish them for their ways And repay them for their deeds.

some worthless men have gone out from among you and have seduced the inhabitants of their city, saying,‘ Let’s go and serve other gods’( whom you have not known),

These things they will do because they have not known the Father nor Me.

But certain useless men said,“ How can this one save us?” And they despised him and did not bring him a gift. But he kept silent about it.

“ And now, this commandment is for you, the priests.If you do not listen, and if you do not take it to heart to give honor to My name,” says the Lord of armies,“ then I will send the curse upon you and I will curse your blessings; and indeed, I have cursed them already, because you are not taking it to heart.Behold, I am going to rebuke your descendants, and I will spread dung on your faces, the dung of your feasts; and you will be taken away with it.Then you will know that I have sent this commandment to you, so that My covenant may continue with Levi,” says the Lord of armies.“ My covenant with him was one of life and peace, and I gave them to him as an object of reverence; so he revered Me and was in awe of My name.True instruction was in his mouth and injustice was not found on his lips; he walked with Me in peace and justice, and he turned many back from wrongdoing.For the lips of a priest should maintain knowledge, and people should seek instruction from his mouth; for he is the messenger of the Lord of armies.But as for you, you have turned aside from the way; you have caused many to stumble by the instruction; you have ruined the covenant of Levi,” says the Lord of armies.“ So I also have made you despised and of low reputation in the view of all the people, since you are not keeping My ways but are showing partiality in the instruction.”

and seat two worthless men opposite him, and have them testify against him, saying,‘ You cursed God and the king.’ Then take him out and stone him to death.”

Now Samuel did not yet know the Lord, nor had the word of the Lord yet been revealed to him.

He pled the cause of the afflicted and the poor, Then it was well. Is that not what it means to know Me?” Declares the Lord.
