Jonathan spoke well of David to Saul his father and said to him,“ Let not the king do wrong to his servant David; he has not wronged you, and what he has done has benefited you greatly.

Jonathan told his father Saul some good things about David. He said to him,“ Please don’t do anything to harm David. He hasn’t done anything to harm you. And what he’s done has helped you a lot.

And Jonathan spoke well of David to Saul his father and said to him,“ Let not the king sin against his servant David, because he has not sinned against you, and because his deeds have brought good to you.

The next morning Jonathan spoke with his father about David, saying many good things about him.“ The king must not sin against his servant David,” Jonathan said.“ He’s never done anything to harm you. He has always helped you in any way he could.

Jonathan spoke well of David to his father, Saul. He said to him,“ The king should not sin against his servant David. He hasn’t sinned against you; in fact, his actions have been a great advantage to you.

Thus Jonathan spoke well of David to Saul his father, and said to him,“ Let not the king sin against his servant, against David, because he has not sinned against you, and because his works have been very good toward you.

And Jonathan spake good of David unto Saul his father, and said unto him, Let not the king sin against his servant, against David; because he hath not sinned against thee, and because his works have been to thee- ward very good:

So Jonathan spoke on David’s behalf to his father Saul. He said to him,“ The king should not sin against his servant David, for he has not sinned against you. On the contrary, his actions have been very beneficial for you.

Jonathan spoke good of David to Saul his father, and said to him,“ Don’t let the king sin against his servant, against David; because he has not sinned against you, and because his works have been very good toward you;

Should good be repaid with evil? For they have dug a pit for me. Remember how I stood before You To speak good in their behalf, So as to turn Your wrath away from them.

Reuben answered them, saying,“ Did I not tell you,‘ Do not sin against the boy’; and you would not listen? Now justice for his blood is required.”

But Jonathan replied to his father Saul and said to him,“ Why must he be put to death? What has he done?”

Open your mouth for the people who cannot speak, For the rights of all the unfortunate.Open your mouth, judge righteously, And defend the rights of the poor and needy.

One who returns evil for good, Evil will not depart from his house.

In return for my love they act as my accusers; But I am in prayer.So they have repaid me evil for good, And hatred for my love.

They repay me evil for good, To the bereavement of my soul.

Then Ahimelech answered the king and said,“ And who among all your servants is as faithful as David, the king’s own son in law, who is commander over your bodyguard, and is honored in your house?

Whoever sheds human blood, By man his blood shall be shed, For in the image of God He made mankind.

If one person sins against another, God will mediate for him; but if a person sins against the Lord, who can intercede for him?” But they would not listen to the voice of their father, for the Lord desired to put them to death.

And so, by sinning against the brothers and sisters and wounding their conscience when it is weak, you sin against Christ.

“ If someone sins against his neighbor and is made to take an oath, and he comes and takes an oath before Your altar in this house,

Rescue those who are being taken away to death, And those who are staggering to the slaughter, Oh hold them back!If you say,“ See, we did not know this,” Does He who weighs the hearts not consider it? And does He who watches over your soul not know it? And will He not repay a person according to his work?

Everyone who hates his brother or sister is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life remaining in him.
