Then Jesse made Shammah to pass by. And he said, Neither hath the LORD chosen this.

Jesse then had Shammah pass by, but Samuel said,“ Nor has the Lord chosen this one.”

Then Jesse had Shammah walk by. But Samuel said,“ The Lord hasn’t chosen him either.”

Then Jesse made Shammah pass by. And he said,“ Neither has the Lord chosen this one.”

Next Jesse summoned Shimea, but Samuel said,“ Neither is this the one the Lord has chosen.”

Then Jesse presented Shammah, but Samuel said,“ The LORD hasn’t chosen this one either.”

Next Jesse had Shammah pass by. And he said,“ The Lord has not chosen this one, either.”

Then Jesse made Shammah pass by. And he said,“ Neither has the Lord chosen this one.”

Then Jesse presented Shammah, but Samuel said,“ The Lord hasn’t chosen this one either.”

Then Jesse made Shammah to pass by. He said,“ Yahweh has not chosen this one, either.”

And the three eldest sons of Jesse went[ and] followed Saul to the battle: and the names of his three sons that went to the battle[ were] Eliab the firstborn, and next unto him Abinadab, and the third Shammah.

But Amnon had a friend, whose name[ was] Jonadab, the son of Shimeah David’s brother: and Jonadab[ was] a very subtil man.

And Jesse begat his firstborn Eliab, and Abinadab the second, and Shimma the third,
