So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon David. Samuel then went to Ramah.

耶和华的灵会大大临到你，你就会与他们一同说预言，转变为另一个人。

你爱公义，恨罪恶，为此，神——你的神用喜乐的油来膏立你，而不膏立你的同伴。”

神所差派的那一位，就说神的话语，因为神不靠着量度赐下圣灵。

从耶西的树墩必发出一个嫩芽，从他的根而出的枝子必结果实。耶和华的灵必停留在那一位身上，就是智慧和悟性的灵，谋略和大能的灵，知识和敬畏耶和华的灵。他以敬畏耶和华为乐，审断不凭眼见，裁决不凭耳闻。

扫罗听了这些话，神的灵就临到他，他就大发烈怒。

臣仆中有一个人回应说：“看哪，我见过伯利恒人耶西的一个儿子，他善于弹琴，又是个有能力的勇士，是个战士；他言谈有智慧，身材健美，又有耶和华与他同在。”
