巴蘭觀看亞瑪力人，並以詩歌預言說：「亞瑪力原是列國之首，但他的結局卻是滅亡。」

你們的上帝耶和華將把你們附近各族的城邑賜給你們，你們要將裡面有氣息的全部消滅。要遵照你們的上帝耶和華的吩咐，徹底滅絕赫人、亞摩利人、迦南人、比利洗人、希未人和耶布斯人，免得他們將祭拜自己神明的可憎習俗傳給你們，以致你們得罪你們的上帝耶和華。

他又把祭司城挪伯的男女老少、牛羊和驢全部殺掉。

要把這座城和城裡所有的東西毀滅，作為獻給耶和華之物。只有妓女喇合和她家中所有的人可以活命，因為她曾把我們派去的探子隱藏起來。你們要小心，不可私拿任何應當毀滅的東西，免得你們自取滅亡，並給以色列全營帶來災禍。要把所有的金銀和銅鐵器皿分別出來獻給耶和華，放進耶和華的庫房裡。」於是，民眾聽到號角聲時，就高聲呐喊，城牆便坍塌了。民眾便一擁而上，佔領了耶利哥城，用刀殺了城裡所有的男女老少、牛羊和驢。

現在，你們要殺掉所有的男孩以及與男人發生過關係的女子，

耶和華上帝又對亞當說：「因為你聽從妻子的話，吃了我吩咐你不可吃的果子，地必因你而受咒詛。你必終生艱辛勞苦，才能吃到地裡出產的食物。地必給你長出荊棘和蒺藜，你要吃田間長出來的菜蔬。

預備殺戮他的子孫吧，因為他們的祖先罪惡深重，免得他們興起統治世界、到處建造城邑。」萬軍之耶和華說：「我必攻擊巴比倫，剷除巴比倫的名號、餘民和後裔。這是耶和華說的。

你們一定要殺光那城中的居民和牲畜。你們要把城中的財物堆在廣場中心，然後放火焚燒那城和城中的財物，作為燔祭獻給你們的上帝耶和華。城要永遠荒廢，不可重建。

不可跪拜它們，也不可供奉它們，因為我——你的上帝耶和華痛恨不貞，我必追討背棄我之人的罪，從父到子直到三四代。

凡永遠獻上的，不論是人、牲畜或是田產，都不可賣掉，也不可贖回，因為這一切都屬於耶和華，是至聖的。凡永遠獻上的人不可被贖回，必須被處死。

因為受造之物處在虛空之下並非出於情願，而是出於上帝的旨意。不過，受造之物仍然盼望脫離衰亡之律的奴役，享受上帝兒女榮耀的自由。我們知道一切受造之物至今都在呻吟，如同經歷分娩之痛。
