撒母耳說：「耶和華喜悅燔祭和祭物，難道與喜悅人聽從耶和華的話等同嗎？看哪，聽從勝過獻祭，聽命勝過公綿羊的脂油；

撒母耳说：“耶和华喜欢燔祭和其他祭物，还是喜欢人们听从祂的话？顺服胜于献祭，听从耶和华胜过向祂献上公羊的脂肪。

撒母耳說：『永恆主喜愛燔祭和平安祭，哪如喜愛人之聽從永恆主的聲音呢？看哪，聽從勝於獻祭，留心聽、勝於公綿羊的脂肪。

撒母耳曰、耶和華豈喜燔祭及他祭、如喜聽其言乎、夫順服愈於祭祀、聽從愈於羊脂、

撒母耳曰、耶和華豈以燔祭禮物為喜、不以聽從其命為喜乎。夫聽命較獻祭尤善、遵言較羊脂愈美。

撒母耳曰、主豈悅火焚祭平安祭、不悅人聽從主命乎、聽命勝於獻祭、順從勝於牡羊脂、

But Samuel replied:“ Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams.

But Samuel replied,“ What pleases the Lord more? Burnt offerings and sacrifices, or obeying the Lord? It is better to obey than to offer a sacrifice. It is better to do what he says than to offer the fat of rams.

And Samuel said,“ Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams.

But Samuel replied,“ What is more pleasing to the Lord: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams.

Then Samuel said: Does the LORD take pleasure in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the LORD? Look: to obey is better than sacrifice, to pay attention is better than the fat of rams.

Samuel said,“ Does the Lord have as much delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices As in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than a sacrifice, And to pay attention is better than the fat of rams.

So Samuel said:“ Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams.

And Samuel said, Hath Jehovah as great delight in burnt- offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of Jehovah? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

Then Samuel said: Does the Lord take pleasure in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord? Look: to obey is better than sacrifice, to pay attention is better than the fat of rams.

And Samuel said, Hath the LORD[ as great] delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey[ is] better than sacrifice,[ and] to hearken than the fat of rams.

Then Samuel said,“ Does the LORD take pleasure in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as he does in obedience? Certainly, obedience is better than sacrifice; paying attention is better than the fat of rams.

Samuel said,“ Has Yahweh as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying Yahweh’s voice? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams.

你所喜悅的不是祭物，否則我就會獻上；燔祭也不是你所悅納的。神所要的祭物，就是破碎的靈；神哪，破碎、痛悔的心，你必不輕視！

實行公義和公正，比獻祭更蒙耶和華悅納。

以全心、全智、全力來愛神，並且要愛鄰如己，這是比所有的燔祭和各種祭祀都重要的。」

你們去學『我要的是憐憫，而不是祭祀』這話是什麼意思吧！我來不是要召喚義人，而是要召喚罪人。」

祭物和供物不是你所喜悅的，燔祭和贖罪祭不是你所要的；你開通了我的耳朵，那時我說：「看哪，我來了，正如經卷上有關我的記載。我的神哪，我喜愛遵行你的旨意！你的律法在我的心裡。」

你去神的殿時，要謹慎腳步；近前聽，勝過像愚昧人那樣獻上祭物，因為愚昧人不知道自己在作惡。

你們如果明白『我要的是憐憫，而不是祭祀』這話是什麼意思，就不會把無罪的定為有罪了。

耶和華說：「你們所獻的眾多祭物，對我有什麼意義呢？公綿羊的燔祭和肥畜的脂油，我已經膩煩了；公牛、羊羔和公山羊的血，我也不喜悅。你們來朝見我時，誰向你們要求這踐踏我院宇的事呢？不要再帶無用的供物了！獻祭的香，是我所憎惡的；新月節、安息日、宣召的聚會——邪惡的嚴肅集會，是我不能容忍的。你們的新月節和所定的節期，是我心裡所恨惡的；它們成了我的重負，我已厭倦不堪。你們伸開雙手禱告的時候，我必掩目不看你們；就算你們多多禱告，我也不垂聽。你們的雙手沾滿了血！「洗滌自己，潔淨自己吧，從我眼前除掉你們的惡行！當停止作惡，學習行善，尋求公正，指責欺壓者，給孤兒伸冤，為寡婦辯屈！」

因為公牛和山羊的血，不可能把罪孽除去。所以，基督進入世界的時候，他說：「神哪，祭物和供物不是你所希望的；你為我預備了一個身體。燔祭和贖罪祭不是你所喜悅的；於是我說：『看哪，我來了！關於我的事，經卷上已經記載了。神哪，我來是要遵行你的旨意！』」上文說：祭物、供物、燔祭和贖罪祭不是你所希望的，也不是你所喜悅的，儘管這些都是照著律法獻上的；接著又說：「看哪，我來了！是要遵行你的旨意！」神廢除前者，是為了確立後者。我們憑著這旨意，藉著耶穌基督身體做供物，就已經一次性地被分別為聖了。

「經文士和法利賽人哪，你們這些偽善的人有禍了！因為你們奉獻薄荷、蒔蘿、香芹的十分之一，卻放棄了律法上更重要的：就是公義、憐憫、信實。這些才是你們應該做的，至於前者也不可放棄。

我不是因你的祭物責備你，你的燔祭一直在我面前。我不從你家裡拿公牛，不從你羊圈裡拿公山羊；

就要把祭物留在祭壇前，先去與弟兄和好，然後再回來獻上你的祭物。
