Then panic struck the whole army— those in the camp and field, and those in the outposts and raiding parties— and the ground shook. It was a panic sent by God.

患難臨其身、追逐踵其後。

非利士人之汛在密抹隘口。

耶和華眷祐善人、俾惡者悚然畏懼兮、

爾曹猶有孑遺、處於敵國、必使爾心畏葸、風吹葉落、偶聞其聲、則懼而遁、若避鋒刃、即無追者、亦必隕沒。自相蹂躪、如擊以刃、拒敵無能。

勃然變色、中心鬱陶、腰骨閃損、兩股戰栗、

耶和華由火中降臨於西乃山、煙燄四塞、如自洪爐出、山嶽震動。

爾將聞戰、及戰風聲、慎勿懼、此事必有、惟末期未至耳、

謂其人曰、耶和華曾以此地錫爾、我所素知、斯土之人懼爾、甚至喪膽、

各立其所、當敵營之四周、敵呼而遁。
