Jonathan attacked the Philistine outpost at Geba, and the Philistines heard about it. Then Saul had the trumpet blown throughout the land and said,“ Let the Hebrews hear!”

Some Philistine soldiers were stationed at Geba. Jonathan attacked them. The other Philistines heard about it. Saul announced,“ Let the Hebrew people hear about what has happened!” He had trumpets blown all through the land.

Jonathan defeated the garrison of the Philistines that was at Geba, and the Philistines heard of it. And Saul blew the trumpet throughout all the land, saying,“ Let the Hebrews hear.”

Soon after this, Jonathan attacked and defeated the garrison of Philistines at Geba. The news spread quickly among the Philistines. So Saul blew the ram’s horn throughout the land, saying,“ Hebrews, hear this! Rise up in revolt!”

全地，從迦巴直到耶路撒冷南方的臨門，都要變成平原；但耶路撒冷仍必屹然聳立，從便雅憫門到第一門的地方，到角門，又從哈楠業樓到王的榨酒池，都在原處。

那時大衛在山寨中，非利士人的駐軍卻在伯利恆。

基法．阿摩尼、俄弗尼、迦巴，共十二座城，還有屬於這些城的村莊；

又從便雅憫支派中，分給他們基遍和基遍的郊野，迦巴和迦巴的郊野，

他們過了隘口，在迦巴住宿；拉瑪人戰兢，掃羅的基比亞人逃跑。

有一天，掃羅的兒子約拿單對替他拿武器的僕人說：“來！我們過到非利士人的駐軍那邊去吧。”但他沒有告訴父親。那時掃羅在基比亞的邊界，坐在米磯崙的石榴樹下，跟隨他的約有六百人。其中有亞希突的兒子亞希亞帶著以弗得；亞希突是以迦博的哥哥，非尼哈的兒子，以利的孫子。以利從前在示羅作耶和華的祭司。約拿單去了，眾人都不知道。約拿單設法要經過那個隘口到非利士人的駐軍那裡去，隘口的兩邊各有一個山峰，一個名叫播薛，另一個名叫西尼。一個高峰向北，與密抹相對，另一個向南，與迦巴相對。約拿單對替他拿武器的僕人說：“來！我們過到這些未受割禮的人的駐軍那裡去，也許耶和華會為我們動工，因為不論人多或人少，都不能妨礙耶和華施行拯救。”
