扫罗有生之年常与非利士人激烈争战，他看到任何有能力的人或勇士，都招募来跟随他。

亚述王来到亚叶，经过米矶仑，在密抹安放辎重。他们过了隘口，要在迦巴住宿。拉玛战兢，扫罗的基比亚逃命。

洗拉、以利弗、耶布斯，耶布斯就是耶路撒冷，基比亚、基列，共十四座城，以及所属的村庄。这是便雅悯人按着宗族所得的地业。

请把他的子孙七人交给我们，我们好在耶和华面前，把他们悬挂在基比亚，就是耶和华拣选扫罗的地方。”王说：“我必交给你们。”

撒母耳回了拉玛。扫罗上他所住的基比亚，回自己的家去了。

主人对他说：“我们不可进入外邦人的城，那不是以色列人的地方，我们越过这里到基比亚去吧。”

他说：“管辖你们的王必用这样的方式：他必派你们的儿子为他驾车，赶马，在他的战车前奔跑。
