扫罗的一生常常与非利士人有猛烈的争战。每逢扫罗看见任何勇士或有能力的人，就都招募归他。

亚述人来到亚叶，经过米矶仑；在密抹存放军队行装。他们过了隘口，在迦巴住宿；拉玛人战兢，扫罗的基比亚人逃跑。

洗拉、以利弗、耶布斯（耶布斯就是耶路撒冷）、基比亚、基列，共十四座城，还有属于这些城的村庄。这就是便雅悯人按着家族所得的产业。

现在请你把他子孙中的七个男丁交给我们，我们可以在基遍耶和华的山上，在耶和华面前把他们处决。”王说：“我必交给你们。”

后来撒母耳回拉玛去，扫罗也上他所住的基比亚自己的家去了。

主人对他说：“我们不可转到这座不是以色列人居住的外族人的城里去，我们过到基比亚去吧。”
