所以，基督既然在肉身上受過苦，你們也應該以同樣的心志裝備自己，因為那在肉身上受過苦的，就已經與罪斷絕了，

Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because whoever suffers in the body is done with sin.

那些屬於基督耶穌的人，已經把肉體與肉體的渴望和情慾一同釘上十字架了。

因為基督也曾一次為了贖罪而受苦，就是義的代替不義的，為要把你們帶到神的面前。照著肉身說，基督固然被處死了；但照著靈說，他卻得以復活了。

因為你們已經死了，你們的生命與基督一同藏在神裡面。基督是你們的生命，當他顯現的時候，你們那時也就和他一同在榮耀裡顯現。所以，當把你們屬世的各個部分看為死了的，就如淫亂、汙穢、邪情、惡慾和貪心，貪心就是拜偶像。

所以現在活著的不再是我，而是基督在我裡面活著；並且如今我在肉體中活著，是因信神的兒子而活；他愛我，甚至為我捨棄了自己。

照樣，你們就當看自己向罪是死的，但在基督耶穌裡向神卻是活的。

「洗滌自己，潔淨自己吧，從我眼前除掉你們的惡行！當停止作惡，

為此，要拿起神的全副武裝，好使你們在邪惡的日子能夠抵擋，並且在完成一切以後，還站立得住。

因為一個死了的人，已經脫離了罪。

絕對不可！我們這些向罪已經死了的人，怎麼還能活在罪中呢？

黑夜已深，白晝近了。所以，我們要脫去黑暗的行為，配上光明的兵器。我們要行事端正，好像在白晝中那樣：不可荒宴、醉酒；不可淫亂、好色；不可紛爭、嫉妒。相反，要穿上主耶穌基督；不要為了私慾而在屬肉體的事上做任何安排。

其實，你們應當仔細地思想耶穌如何忍受了罪人的頂撞，這樣你們心裡就不會因喪氣而疲倦。

你們應當有這樣的意念，這也是基督耶穌的意念。

原來，那進了神安息的人，也歇了自己的工作，就像神歇了自己的工作那樣。
