For[ it is] better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.

倘天主之意、欲使爾因行善而受苦、不猶愈於因作惡而受苦乎？

For it is better, if it is God’s will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.

God may want you to suffer for doing good. That’s better than suffering for doing evil.

But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or[ as] a thief, or[ as] an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters.
