因为人如果为了在神面前良心的缘故，在不公正的苦害中忍受忧患，这是可称赞的；

緣有對上帝之良、雖受枉而忍憂、則見納矣、

爾受枉、緣上帝而忍之、則可嘉矣、

人具良心畏天主、受枉而能忍、或作人受屈枉因天主而忍之是為可嘉、

凡橫逆之來、如能懷念天主而忍受之、斯可嘉矣。

For it is commendable if someone bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because they are conscious of God.

Suppose a person suffers pain unfairly because they want to obey God. This is worthy of praise.

For this is a gracious thing, when, mindful of God, one endures sorrows while suffering unjustly.

For God is pleased when, conscious of his will, you patiently endure unjust treatment.

For it brings favor if, because of a consciousness of God, someone endures grief from suffering unjustly.

For this finds favor, if for the sake of conscience toward God a person endures grief when suffering unjustly.

For this is commendable, if because of conscience toward God one endures grief, suffering wrongfully.

For this is acceptable, if for conscience toward God a man endureth griefs, suffering wrongfully.

For it brings favor if, mindful of God’s will, someone endures grief from suffering unjustly.

For this[ is] thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.

For this finds God’s favor, if because of conscience toward God someone endures hardships in suffering unjustly.

For it is commendable if someone endures pain, suffering unjustly, because of conscience toward God.

But how is it to your credit if you receive a beating for doing wrong and endure it? But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable before God. (niv)

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.“ Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience. (niv)

They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the one who sent me. (niv)

But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed.“ Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened.”But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.For it is better, if it is God’s will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. All your commands are trustworthy; help me, for I am being persecuted without cause. (niv)
