When Solomon had finished building the temple of the Lord and the royal palace, and had achieved all he had desired to do,

Solomon finished building the Lord’ s temple and the royal palace. He had accomplished everything he had planned to do.

As soon as Solomon had finished building the house of the Lord and the king’s house and all that Solomon desired to build,

So Solomon finished building the Temple of the Lord, as well as the royal palace. He completed everything he had planned to do.

這樣、所羅門把永恆主的殿和王的宮室都建造完了；在永恆主之殿和自己王宮裏的、凡所羅門心裏想要作的他都順利作成了。夜間、永恆主向所羅門顯現，對他說：『我聽了你的禱告，也選擇了這地歸我自己、做獻祭的殿。我若將天抑制住、使它沒有雨水，我若吩咐蚱蜢來喫這地的物產，或是打發瘟疫到我人民中間；我人民、這以我名被稱呼的人民、若自己謙卑，禱告，尋求要朝見我，若轉離他們的壞行徑，我就從天上垂聽，赦免他們的罪，醫治他們的地。現在我的眼必睜開着，我的耳必傾聽這聖地所獻上的禱告。現在我選擇了這殿，分別為聖，使我的名長在這裏到永遠；我的眼我的心必日日不斷在這裏。至於你呢、你如果行於我面前，像你父親大衛那樣行：照我一切所吩咐你的去作，謹守我的律例典章，那麼我就立定你的國位，正如我和你父親大衛立了約說：「你子孫總必不斷有人來統治以色列的」。『但是你們、你們若轉離而撇棄我的律例誡命、就是我所擺在你們面前的，反而去服事敬拜別的神，那麼我就必將以色列人從我所賜給他們的土地上根拔出來，而我為我自己的名所分別為聖的這殿、我也必從我面前丟棄不顧，使它在萬族民中成為令人談笑令人譏刺的對象。對這座這麼高聳的殿、凡從這裏經過的人、個個都必驚訝着說：「永恆主為甚麼向這地和這殿這樣辦呢？」人必回答說：「是因為這地的人離棄了永恆主他們列祖的上帝、那領他們出埃及地的上帝，去依附着別的神、而敬拜服事他們；故此永恆主才使這一切災禍臨到了他們。」』二十年之間、所羅門建造了永恆主的殿和自己的宮室；二十年終了、所羅門就把戶蘭給了他、的那些城重新建造起來，使以色列人住在那裏。所羅門往哈馬瑣巴去，戰勝了那地方。所羅門建造了曠野的達莫，和他在哈馬所建造的一切貯藏城。他又建造了上伯和崙跟下伯和崙、作為堡障城，都有牆，有門、有閂；又建造了巴拉和所羅門所有的一切貯藏城、一切屯車城、駿馬城、和所羅門一切所愛好的建築物、就是他在耶路撒冷、利巴嫩、和他統治的各地所愛建造的。

我為自己動大工程，建造房屋，為自己栽種葡萄園，

所羅門在位第四年、西弗月、他立了永恆主之殿的根基。到十一年、布勒月、就是八月、他就把殿造完了，都按一切說明一切計畫。他用了七年工夫去建造它。他自己的宮室呢、所羅門費了十三年的工夫去建造，才把他全部的宮室都造完了。

凡我的眼所求的、我沒有留下而不給它的；凡我的心所喜樂的、我沒有阻止而不讓享受的；因為我的心從我一切所勞碌的獲得快樂：這就是我從一切勞碌中所得的分。

眼睛看到的比心裏轉來轉去想的好：這也是虛空，也是捕風。

這樣、所羅門王所作永恆主之殿的一切工就作完了。所羅門把他父親大衛分別為聖的東西、銀子金子和器皿、都帶了來，交在永恆主之殿的府庫中。
