“ Moreover, concerning a foreigner, who is not of Your people Israel, but has come from a far country for Your name’s sake

『至於外族人、不屬於你人民以色列的，他們也為了你的名從遠地而來，

至於外族、不屬爾民以色列者、為爾之名而至、

如有賓旅、不屬於以色列族、聞爾名譽、知爾大能巨力、自遠方來、至於斯殿、祈求於爾、

如有外邦人不屬主之民以色列者、聞主之大名大能大力、為主之名自遠方來、在在或作向此殿祈禱、

“ As for the foreigner who does not belong to your people Israel but has come from a distant land because of your name—

“ Suppose there are outsiders who don’t belong to your people Israel. And they have come from a land far away. They’ve come because they’ve heard about your name.

“ Likewise, when a foreigner, who is not of your people Israel, comes from a far country for your name’s sake

“ In the future, foreigners who do not belong to your people Israel will hear of you. They will come from distant lands because of your name,

Even for the foreigner who is not of your people Israel but has come from a distant land because of your name—

“ Also regarding the foreigner who is not of Your people Israel, when he comes from a far country on account of Your name

Moreover concerning the foreigner, that is not of thy people Israel, when he shall come out of a far country for thy name’s sake

Even for the foreigner who is not of Your people Israel but has come from a distant land because of Your name—

Moreover concerning a stranger, that[ is] not of thy people Israel, but cometh out of a far country for thy name’s sake;

“ Foreigners, who do not belong to your people Israel, will come from a distant land because of your reputation.

“ Moreover concerning the foreigner, who is not of your people Israel, when he comes out of a far country for your name’s sake

Now when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the Lord, she came to test him with hard questions.She came to Jerusalem with a very great retinue, with camels that bore spices, very much gold, and precious stones; and when she came to Solomon, she spoke with him about all that was in her heart.

So he arose and went. And behold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace the queen of the Ethiopians, who had charge of all her treasury, and had come to Jerusalem to worship,was returning. And sitting in his chariot, he was reading Isaiah the prophet.Then the Spirit said to Philip,“ Go near and overtake this chariot.”So Philip ran to him, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said,“ Do you understand what you are reading?”And he said,“ How can I, unless someone guides me?” And he asked Philip to come up and sit with him.The place in the Scripture which he read was this:“ He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; And as a lamb before its shearer is silent, So He opened not His mouth.In His humiliation His justice was taken away, And who will declare His generation? For His life is taken from the earth.”So the eunuch answered Philip and said,“ I ask you, of whom does the prophet say this, of himself or of some other man?”Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning at this Scripture, preached Jesus to him.Now as they went down the road, they came to some water. And the eunuch said,“ See, here is water. What hinders me from being baptized?”

Do not let the son of the foreigner Who has joined himself to the Lord Speak, saying,“ The Lord has utterly separated me from His people”; Nor let the eunuch say,“ Here I am, a dry tree.”For thus says the Lord:“ To the eunuchs who keep My Sabbaths, And choose what pleases Me, And hold fast My covenant,Even to them I will give in My house And within My walls a place and a name Better than that of sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting name That shall not be cut off.“ Also the sons of the foreigner Who join themselves to the Lord, to serve Him, And to love the name of the Lord, to be His servants— Everyone who keeps from defiling the Sabbath, And holds fast My covenant—Even them I will bring to My holy mountain, And make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices Will be accepted on My altar; For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.”

When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed,“ Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.

Now Naaman, commander of the army of the king of Syria, was a great and honorable man in the eyes of his master, because by him the Lord had given victory to Syria. He was also a mighty man of valor, but a leper.And the Syrians had gone out on raids, and had brought back captive a young girl from the land of Israel. She waited on Naaman’s wife.Then she said to her mistress,“ If only my master were with the prophet who is in Samaria! For he would heal him of his leprosy.”And Naaman went in and told his master, saying,“ Thus and thus said the girl who is from the land of Israel.”Then the king of Syria said,“ Go now, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel.” So he departed and took with him ten talents of silver, six thousand shekels of gold, and ten changes of clothing.Then he brought the letter to the king of Israel, which said, Now be advised, when this letter comes to you, that I have sent Naaman my servant to you, that you may heal him of his leprosy.And it happened, when the king of Israel read the letter, that he tore his clothes and said,“ Am I God, to kill and make alive, that this man sends a man to me to heal him of his leprosy? Therefore please consider, and see how he seeks a quarrel with me.”

Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem,

There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of what was called the Italian Regiment,a devout man and one who feared God with all his household, who gave alms generously to the people, and prayed to God always.About the ninth hour of the day he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God coming in and saying to him,“ Cornelius!”And when he observed him, he was afraid, and said,“ What is it, Lord?” So he said to him,“ Your prayers and your alms have come up for a memorial before God.

Now there were certain Greeks among those who came up to worship at the feast.

The queen of the South will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and indeed a greater than Solomon is here.

But Ruth said:“ Entreat me not to leave you, Or to turn back from following after you; For wherever you go, I will go; And wherever you lodge, I will lodge; Your people shall be my people, And your God, my God.

And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying,“ Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.”But He answered her not a word. And His disciples came and urged Him, saying,“ Send her away, for she cries out after us.”But He answered and said,“ I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”Then she came and worshiped Him, saying,“ Lord, help me!”But He answered and said,“ It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.”And she said,“ Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”Then Jesus answered and said to her,“ O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.

But he said,“ As the Lord lives, before whom I stand, I will receive nothing.” And he urged him to take it, but he refused.So Naaman said,“ Then, if not, please let your servant be given two mule-loads of earth; for your servant will no longer offer either burnt offering or sacrifice to other gods, but to the Lord.

And Moses told his father-in-law all that the Lord had done to Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel’s sake, all the hardship that had come upon them on the way, and how the Lord had delivered them.Then Jethro rejoiced for all the good which the Lord had done for Israel, whom He had delivered out of the hand of the Egyptians.And Jethro said,“ Blessed be the Lord, who has delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians and out of the hand of Pharaoh, and who has delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians.Now I know that the Lord is greater than all the gods; for in the very thing in which they behaved proudly, He was above them.”Then Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law, took a burnt offering and other sacrifices to offer to God. And Aaron came with all the elders of Israel to eat bread with Moses’ father-in-law before God.

Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you.The Gentiles shall come to your light, And kings to the brightness of your rising.“ Lift up your eyes all around, and see: They all gather together, they come to you; Your sons shall come from afar, And your daughters shall be nursed at your side.Then you shall see and become radiant, And your heart shall swell with joy; Because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you, The wealth of the Gentiles shall come to you.The multitude of camels shall cover your land, The dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; All those from Sheba shall come; They shall bring gold and incense, And they shall proclaim the praises of the Lord.All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together to you, The rams of Nebaioth shall minister to you; They shall ascend with acceptance on My altar, And I will glorify the house of My glory.“ Who are these who fly like a cloud, And like doves to their roosts?Surely the coastlands shall wait for Me; And the ships of Tarshish will come first, To bring your sons from afar, Their silver and their gold with them, To the name of the Lord your God, And to the Holy One of Israel, Because He has glorified you.“ The sons of foreigners shall build up your walls, And their kings shall minister to you; For in My wrath I struck you, But in My favor I have had mercy on you.

Now when Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him,

And Boaz answered and said to her,“ It has been fully reported to me, all that you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband, and how you have left your father and your mother and the land of your birth, and have come to a people whom you did not know before.

Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?”

“ Moreover, concerning a foreigner, who is not of Your people Israel, but has come from a far country for the sake of Your great name and Your mighty hand and Your outstretched arm, when they come and pray in this temple;
