Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where[ is] the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk[ therein].

And it came to pass[ after] many days, that the word of the LORD came to Elijah in the third year, saying, Go, shew thyself unto Ahab; and I will send rain upon the earth.

Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou[ art] the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.

Are there[ any] among the vanities of the Gentiles that can cause rain? or can the heavens give showers?[ art] not thou he, O LORD our God? therefore we will wait upon thee: for thou hast made all these[ things].

And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.

Blessed[ is] the man whom thou chastenest, O LORD, and teachest him out of thy law;

Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

HE. Teach me, O LORD, the way of thy statutes; and I shall keep it[ unto] the end.

And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he[ is] a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey,[ or] peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked.And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them.And it came to pass, when midday was past, and they prophesied until the[ time] of the offering of the[ evening] sacrifice, that[ there was] neither voice, nor any to answer, nor any that regarded.And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me. And all the people came near unto him. And he repaired the altar of the LORD[ that was] broken down.And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, unto whom the word of the LORD came, saying, Israel shall be thy name:And with the stones he built an altar in the name of the LORD: and he made a trench about the altar, as great as would contain two measures of seed.And he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid[ him] on the wood, and said, Fill four barrels with water, and pour[ it] on the burnt sacrifice, and on the wood.And he said, Do[ it] the second time. And they did[ it] the second time. And he said, Do[ it] the third time. And they did[ it] the third time.And the water ran round about the altar; and he filled the trench also with water.And it came to pass at[ the time of] the offering of the[ evening] sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou[ art] God in Israel, and[ that] I[ am] thy servant, and[ that] I have done all these things at thy word.Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou[ art] the LORD God, and[ that] thou hast turned their heart back again.Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that[ was] in the trench.And when all the people saw[ it], they fell on their faces: and they said, The LORD, he[ is] the God; the LORD, he[ is] the God.And Elijah said unto them, Take the prophets of Baal; let not one of them escape. And they took them: and Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon, and slew them there.

What man[ is] he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way[ that] he shall choose.

Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.

Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

Good and upright[ is] the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.

And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it[ shall be] for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err[ therein].

Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.

And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any[ man]: for thou regardest not the person of men.

That the LORD thy God may shew us the way wherein we may walk, and the thing that we may do.

When the heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee;[ yet] if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou dost afflict them;Then hear thou from heaven, and forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, when thou hast taught them the good way, wherein they should walk; and send rain upon thy land, which thou hast given unto thy people for an inheritance.

And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This[ is] the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain, whereby thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary.
