‘ Since the day that I brought My people Israel from Egypt, I did not choose a city out of all the tribes of Israel in which to build a house so that My name would be there, but I chose David to be over My people Israel.’

彼曰、自我導我民以色列出埃及、於以色列支派中、我未嘗簡一邑以建室、為我寄名之所、惟簡大衛、治我民以色列、

所許之言曰、自耶和華導以色列民、出埃及以來、迄於今日、未嘗於以色列支派中、遴選一邑、使人建殿、為籲名之所、惟簡大闢、治理我民。

自我導我民以色列出伊及以來、未曾於以色列諸支派中選一邑、使人為我名建殿、惟選大衛治理我民以色列、

‘ Since the day I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I have not chosen a city in any tribe of Israel to have a temple built so that my Name might be there, but I have chosen David to rule my people Israel.’

‘ I brought my people Israel out of Egypt. Ever since, I haven’t chosen a city in any tribe of Israel where a temple could be built for my Name. But I have chosen David to rule over my people Israel.’

‘ Since the day that I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel in which to build a house, that my name might be there. But I chose David to be over my people Israel.’

‘ From the day I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I have never chosen a city among any of the tribes of Israel as the place where a Temple should be built to honor my name. But I have chosen David to be king over my people Israel.’”

“ Since the day I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I have not chosen a city to build a temple in among any of the tribes of Israel, so that my name would be there. But I have chosen David to rule my people Israel.”

Since the day that I brought forth my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build a house, that my name might be there; but I chose David to be over my people Israel.

Now the Lord said to Samuel,“ How long are you going to mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him from being king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and go; I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, because I have chosen a king for Myself among his sons.”

But in the same night, the word of the Lord came to Nathan, saying,“ Go and say to My servant David,‘ This is what the Lord says:“ Should you build Me a house for My dwelling?For I have not dwelt in a house since the day I brought up the sons of Israel from Egypt, even to this day; rather, I have been moving about in a tent, that is, in a dwelling place.Wherever I have gone with all the sons of Israel, did I speak a word with one of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to shepherd My people Israel, saying,‘ Why have you not built Me a house of cedar?’ ” ’Now then, this is what you shall say to My servant David:‘ This is what the Lord of armies says:“ I Myself took you from the pasture, from following the sheep, to be leader over My people Israel.

so that Your eyes may be open toward this house night and day, toward the place of which You have said,‘ My name shall be there,’ to listen to the prayer which Your servant will pray toward this place.

Yet, the Lord, the God of Israel, chose me from all the household of my father to be king over Israel forever. For He has chosen Judah to be a leader; and in the house of Judah, my father’s house, and among the sons of my father He took pleasure in me to make me king over all Israel.

then it shall come about that the place in which the Lord your God will choose for His name to dwell, there you shall bring everything that I command you: your burnt offerings and your sacrifices, your tithes and the contribution of your hand, and all your choice vowed offerings which you will vow to the Lord.

for I have not dwelt in a house since the day that I brought up Israel to this day, but I have gone from tent to tent and from one dwelling place to another.In all places where I have walked with all Israel, have I spoken a word with any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to shepherd My people, saying,‘ Why have you not built Me a house of cedar?’ ” ’

For the Lord has chosen Zion; He has desired it as His dwelling place.

And the Lord said,“ I will also remove Judah from My sight, just as I have removed Israel. And I will reject this city which I have chosen, Jerusalem, and the temple of which I said,‘ My name shall be there!’ ”

He also chose His servant David And took him from the sheepfolds;

But you shall seek the Lord at the place which the Lord your God will choose from all your tribes, to establish His name there for His dwelling, and you shall come there.

but if you return to Me and keep My commandments and do them, though those of you who have been scattered were in the most remote part of the heavens, I will gather them from there and bring them to the place where I have chosen to have My name dwell.’

But to his son I will give one tribe, so that My servant David may always have a lamp before Me in Jerusalem, the city where I have chosen for Myself to put My name.

Once You spoke in vision to Your godly ones, And said,“ I have given help to one who is mighty; I have exalted one chosen from the people.I have found My servant David; With My holy oil I have anointed him,

‘ Since the day that I brought My people from the land of Egypt, I did not choose a city out of all the tribes of Israel in which to build a house, so that My name might be there, nor did I choose a man to be the leader over My people Israel;but I have chosen Jerusalem so that My name might be there, and I have chosen David to be over My people Israel.’Now it was in the heart of my father David to build a house for the name of the Lord, the God of Israel.But the Lord said to my father David,‘ Because it was in your heart to build a house for My name, you did well that it was in your heart.Nevertheless you shall not build the house, but your son who will be born to you, he shall build the house for My name.’Now the Lord has fulfilled His word which He spoke; for I have risen in place of my father David and sit on the throne of Israel, as the Lord promised, and have built the house for the name of the Lord, the God of Israel.There I have placed the ark in which is the covenant of the Lord, which He made with the sons of Israel.”

“ But go now to My place which was in Shiloh, where I made My name dwell at the beginning, and see what I did to it because of the wickedness of My people Israel.
