『你知道我父親大衛、因着四圍的戰爭、不能為永恆主他的上帝的名建殿，直等到永恆主使仇敵都服在他腳下，才要建殿。

昔我父大衛、因四方戰鬥、待耶和華服諸敵於其足下、不能為其上帝耶和華之名建室、爾所知也、

昔我父大闢、四方戰鬥、未蒙耶和華服諸敵於足下、故不得建殿、以籲其上帝耶和華之名、乃爾所知。

昔我父大衛、四方徵戰、不能為主其天主之名建殿、待主以諸敵服其足下乃可、此爾所知、

“ You know that because of the wars waged against my father David from all sides, he could not build a temple for the Name of the Lord his God until the Lord put his enemies under his feet.

“ As you know, my father David had to fight many battles. His enemies attacked him from every side. So he couldn’t build a temple where the Lord his God would put his Name. That wouldn’t be possible until the Lord had put his enemies under his control.

“ You know that David my father could not build a house for the name of the Lord his God because of the warfare with which his enemies surrounded him, until the Lord put them under the soles of his feet.

“ You know that my father, David, was not able to build a Temple to honor the name of the Lord his God because of the many wars waged against him by surrounding nations. He could not build until the Lord gave him victory over all his enemies.

“ You know my father David was not able to build a temple for the name of the LORD his God. This was because of the warfare all around him until the LORD put his enemies under his feet.

“ You know that David my father was unable to build a house for the name of the Lord his God because of the wars which surrounded him, until the Lord put them under the soles of his feet.

You know how my father David could not build a house for the name of the Lord his God because of the wars which were fought against him on every side, until the Lord put his foes under the soles of his feet.

Thou knowest how that David my father could not build a house for the name of Jehovah his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until Jehovah put them under the soles of his feet.

“ You know my father David was not able to build a temple for the name of Yahweh his God. This was because of the warfare all around him until the Lord put his enemies under his feet.

Thou knowest how that David my father could not build an house unto the name of the LORD his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until the LORD put them under the soles of his feet.

“ You know that my father David was unable to build a temple to honor the LORD his God, for he was busy fighting battles on all fronts while the LORD subdued his enemies.

“ You know that David my father could not build a house for the name of Yahweh his God because of the wars which were around him on every side, until Yahweh put his enemies under the soles of his feet.

但上帝對我說，『你不可為我的名建造殿宇，因為你是個戰士，曾流過人的血。』

但耶和華對我說，『你殺了許多人，打了很多仗，在我眼前使許多人血灑大地，因此你不可為我的名建造殿宇。

他還預備了無數的香柏木，都是西頓人和泰爾人給他運來的。大衛說：「為耶和華建造的殿宇必須宏偉輝煌，聞名於世，而我的兒子所羅門年紀還輕、閱歷尚淺，所以我要為這殿預備材料。」因此，大衛在去世前為建殿預備了許多材料。大衛召來兒子所羅門，囑咐他要為以色列的上帝耶和華建造殿宇。

耶和華對我主說：「你坐在我的右邊，等我使你的仇敵成為你的腳凳。」

但如今，我揀選了耶路撒冷作為我名所在之地，又揀選了大衛來治理我的以色列子民。』」所羅門又說：「我父大衛曾想建一座殿來尊崇以色列的上帝耶和華之名，但耶和華對我父大衛說，『你想為我建殿，這番心意是好的，

約書亞召來全體以色列人，然後對那些跟他一起出征的將領說：「你們上前來，用腳踏在這些王的頸上。」各將領便照著約書亞的吩咐做了。

你派他管理你親手造的萬物，使萬物降服在他腳下：

到我所定的日子，你們必踐踏惡人，他們必成為你們腳下的塵土。』這是萬軍之耶和華說的。

祂又使萬物降服在基督腳下，使基督為教會作萬物的元首。

因為基督必執掌王權，直到上帝將所有的仇敵都放在祂腳下。

「你去告訴我的僕人大衛，『耶和華說，你豈是為我建造殿宇的人？從我把以色列人帶出埃及那天起，直到今天，我從未住過殿宇，一路上都住在帳篷裡。在我與以色列人同行的日子，我從未責問任何我委派牧養我子民的士師，你為何不為我建香柏木的殿宇呢？』「現在你要告訴我的僕人大衛，萬軍之耶和華說，『你原本在草場牧羊，我召你來做我以色列子民的首領。無論你去哪裡，我都與你同在，為你剷除所有仇敵。現在我要使你聲名遠播，與世上的偉人齊名。我必為我的以色列子民預備一個地方，栽培他們，讓他們住在自己的家園，不再受驚擾，不會像從前我設立士師治理他們的時候那樣受惡人壓迫。我必使你安定，免受仇敵的侵擾。我耶和華向你宣告，我必建立你的王室。
