后来，亚扪王死了，他儿子哈嫩继位。大卫说：“我要恩待拿辖的儿子哈嫩，因为他父亲曾经恩待我。”他便派臣仆去安慰丧父的哈嫩。大卫的臣仆来到亚扪境内，

泰尔人必来送礼，富人必来取悦你。

希兰从泰尔去视察这些城，然后满心不悦地对所罗门说：“兄弟啊，你送给我的是什么城邑呀？”因此，他称这个地区为迦步勒，沿用至今。希兰供应了所罗门王约四吨金子。

所罗门王从以色列征集了三万劳工，
