昔摩西在曠野所造之會幕、及火焚祭之臺、斯時皆在基遍之崇邱、

所羅門王以牛二萬二千、羊十二萬獻祭、於是王與民眾為天主殿行告成禮、

利巴嫩林為柴不足、其中百獸、獻為火焚祭亦不足、

我欲詣於主前、叩拜在上之天主、當獻何物、當獻火焚祭乎、抑獻一歲之犢乎、獻數千牡綿羊、獻油多若萬河、豈主所悅乎、我當以初生之嬰孩、贖我愆尤、抑以親生之骨肉、親生之骨肉原文作我身之果贖我罪惡歟、

主又顯現於所羅門、與昔在基遍顯現無異、

猶大王希西家賜會眾牛一千、羊七千、諸牧伯賜會眾牛一千、羊一萬、祭司自潔者甚眾、

乃懼甚、蓋基遍原為大邑、與王都無異、較之艾尤大、而人皆勇士、

基遍居民、聞約書亞向耶利哥與艾所行者、

會眾所攜火焚祭牲之數、牡牛七十、牡綿羊一百、綿羊之羔二百、俱獻於主為火焚祭、此外又有感謝之祭牲、感謝之祭牲原文作聖別之物牡牛六百、綿羊三千、其時祭司尚寡、不能盡剝火焚祭牲之皮、同族利未人助之、待其事畢、亦待他祭司自潔、蓋利未人誠心自潔、較祭司尤為殷勤、火焚祭與平安祭牲之脂、及平安祭灌奠之酒甚多、於是主殿之役事均備、

所羅門獻平安祭於主、牛二萬二千、羊十二萬、如是王偕以色列人眾、在主殿行告成禮、
