即或不然，王啊，你要明白，我们也不会事奉你的神明或祭拜你立的金像。”尼布甲尼撒怒气填胸，向沙得拉、米煞、亚伯尼歌大发雷霆，下令将火窑烧得比平时热七倍，又命令军中的勇士将沙得拉、米煞、亚伯尼歌绑起来，扔进烈焰熊熊的火窑。这三人穿着外袍、裤子等衣物，戴着头巾，被绑着扔进烈焰熊熊的火窑。因为王的命令紧急，窑烧得非常热，火焰烧死了那些抬沙得拉、米煞、亚伯尼歌的人。沙得拉、米煞、亚伯尼歌三人被绑着落入烈焰熊熊的火窑。这时，尼布甲尼撒王惊奇地跳起来，问谋士：“我们绑起来扔进火里的不是三个人吗？”他们答道：“王啊，是的。”王说：“看啊，我见有四个人在火中走来走去，没有被绑着，也没有被烧伤，第四个人的面貌好像神明的儿子。”

不可徇私枉法，不可偏袒穷人，不可谄媚权贵之人，要秉公审判。

他们想谋害撒迦利亚，就照着王的命令，在耶和华殿的院子里用石头打死了他。

以法莲因甘愿追随偶像而受欺压，被审判压碎。

因为你遵守暗利的恶规，效法亚哈家的恶行，随从他们的计谋，所以我要使你荒凉，让你的居民成为笑柄。你们要蒙受列国的羞辱。”

他就命令身旁的护卫，说：“把这些耶和华的祭司杀掉，因为他们跟大卫同谋，明知道大卫在潜逃，却不来告诉我。”扫罗的臣仆不愿意下手杀害耶和华的祭司。

“不可散布谣言，也不可与恶人一起作伪证陷害别人。不可随众行恶。在法庭作证时不可附和多数人，颠倒是非。

耶户又写了一封信，说：“如果你们归顺我，愿意听从我，明天这个时候，带着你们主人子孙的首级来耶斯列见我。”当时亚哈的七十个子孙都养在城中显贵的府中。这些显贵们接到信后，便杀了亚哈的七十个子孙，把他们的首级放在篮子里，送到耶斯列的耶户那里。

但彼得和约翰答道：“要我们听从你们而不听从上帝，这在上帝看来合理吗？你们自己想想吧。

但这两个接生婆敬畏上帝，没有执行王的命令，而是保留了男婴的性命。

他们在梦中得到指示不可回希律那里，便改道返回了家乡。
