Don’t brag about tomorrow, since you don’t know what the day will bring.
  • Matthew 26:33-35
Peter declared,“ Even if everyone else deserts you, I will never desert you.”Jesus replied,“ I tell you the truth, Peter— this very night, before the rooster crows, you will deny three times that you even know me.”“ No!” Peter insisted.“ Even if I have to die with you, I will never deny you!” And all the other disciples vowed the same.
  • 1 Samuel 14 12-1 Samuel 14 13
Then the men from the outpost shouted to Jonathan,“ Come on up here, and we’ll teach you a lesson!”“ Come on, climb right behind me,” Jonathan said to his armor bearer,“ for the Lord will help us defeat them!”So they climbed up using both hands and feet, and the Philistines fell before Jonathan, and his armor bearer killed those who came behind them.
  • Isaiah 10:15-16
But can the ax boast greater power than the person who uses it? Is the saw greater than the person who saws? Can a rod strike unless a hand moves it? Can a wooden cane walk by itself? Therefore, the Lord, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, will send a plague among Assyria’s proud troops, and a flaming fire will consume its glory.
  • Matthew 26:75
Suddenly, Jesus’ words flashed through Peter’s mind:“ Before the rooster crows, you will deny three times that you even know me.” And he went away, weeping bitterly.
  • 1 Samuel 14 6

And then I will give the dead bodies of your men to the birds and wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel! And everyone assembled here will know that the Lord rescues his people, but not with sword and spear. This is the Lord’s battle, and he will give you to us!”
  • Ecclesiastes 9:11
I have observed something else under the sun. The fastest runner doesn’t always win the race, and the strongest warrior doesn’t always win the battle. The wise sometimes go hungry, and the skillful are not necessarily wealthy. And those who are educated don’t always lead successful lives. It is all decided by chance, by being in the right place at the right time.
