以色列王回答说：“你们去告诉他，佩戴武器的人，不可像解除武器的那样自夸。”

以色列王说：“你去告诉便·哈达，叫他别刚穿上盔甲就夸口，打完仗卸下盔甲再夸口吧。”

以色列王說：「你告訴他說，才頂盔貫甲的，休要像摘盔卸甲的誇口。」

以色列王回答說：「你們告訴他說，『剛束上腰帶的，不要像已卸下的那樣誇口。』」

以色列王回答說：「你們告訴他說，『剛束上腰帶的，不要像已卸下的那樣誇口。』」

以色列王說：「你去告訴便·哈達，叫他別剛穿上盔甲就誇口，打完仗卸下盔甲再誇口吧。」

以色列王回答說：『你們只要說：「才束上武裝的、休要像解掉了的來誇口。」』

以色列王曰、爾告之云、披甲者、勿效卸甲者而誇、

以色列王對曰、卸甲之士可以凱歌、披甲之士勿效之。

以色列王曰、爾曹告之云、方披甲者勿自誇、卸甲者自誇可也、

The king of Israel answered,“ Tell him:‘ One who puts on his armor should not boast like one who takes it off.’”

The king of Israel replied. He said,“ Tell him,‘ Someone who puts his armor on shouldn’t brag like someone who takes it off.’ ”

And the king of Israel answered,“ Tell him,‘ Let not him who straps on his armor boast himself as he who takes it off.’”

The king of Israel sent back this answer:“ A warrior putting on his sword for battle should not boast like a warrior who has already won.”

The king of Israel answered,“ Say this:‘ Don’t let the one who puts on his armor boast like the one who takes it off.’”

Then the king of Israel replied,“ Tell him,‘ He who straps on his weapons had better not boast like one who takes them off.’ ”

So the king of Israel answered and said,“ Tell him,‘ Let not the one who puts on his armor boast like the one who takes it off.’”

And the king of Israel answered and said, Tell him, Let not him that girdeth on his armor boast himself as he that putteth it off.

The king of Israel answered,“ Say this:‘ Don’t let the one who puts on his armor boast like the one who takes it off.’”

And the king of Israel answered and said, Tell[ him], Let not him that girdeth on[ his harness] boast himself as he that putteth it off.

The king of Israel replied,“ Tell him the one who puts on his battle gear should not boast like one who is taking it off.”

The king of Israel answered,“ Tell him,‘ Don’t let him who puts on his armor brag like he who takes it off.’”

不要为明日自夸，因为今天要发生什么事，你尚且不知道。

彼得对他说：“就算所有的人都因你的缘故后退，我却永不后退。”耶稣对他说：“我实在告诉你，今天晚上鸡叫以前，你会三次不认我。”彼得对他说：“就算必须与你一同死，我也决不会不认你。”门徒也都这样说。

驻军中有人应声对约拿单和替他拿武器的人说：“你们上我们这里来吧！我们有一件事要告诉你们。”约拿单对替他拿武器的人说：“你跟我上去，因为耶和华已经把他们交在以色列人的手里了。”约拿单手脚并用地爬了上去，替他拿武器的人跟着他。非利士人在约拿单面前倒下，替他拿武器的也跟在后面把他们杀死。

斧头怎可以向用斧头砍木的人自夸呢？锯子怎可以向拉锯的人自大呢？好比棍能挥动那举起棍的，又好比杖举起那不是木头的。因此，主万军之耶和华必打发令人消瘦的病临到亚述王肥壮的军人中间，在他的荣耀之下必燃起火焰，如同火烧一样。

彼得想起耶稣所说的话：“鸡叫以前，你会三次不认我”，他就出去痛哭。

约拿单对替他拿武器的仆人说：“来！我们过到这些未受割礼的人的驻军那里去，也许耶和华会为我们动工，因为不论人多或人少，都不能妨碍耶和华施行拯救。”

那非利士人又对大卫说：“你到我这里来吧！我要把你的肉给空中的飞鸟和田野的走兽吃。”大卫回答那非利士人：“你来攻击我是靠刀、靠矛、靠枪，但我来攻击你是靠万军之耶和华的名；万军之耶和华就是你所辱骂的以色列军队的神。今天耶和华要把你交在我手里，我必击杀你，砍下你的头。今天我还要把非利士人军队的尸体给空中的飞鸟和地上的野兽吃。这样，全地的人就都知道以色列中有一位神。也使这些人群都知道，耶和华拯救人不是靠刀，不是靠枪，因为战争的胜败在于耶和华，他必把你们交在我们的手里。”

我又看见在日光之下，跑得快的未必得奖，勇士未必战胜，智慧的未必得粮食，精明的未必致富，博学的未必得人赏识，因为时机和际遇左右众人。
